Introduction
What does our need for a priest tell us about ourselves? What does it tell us about God? Why would God’s acceptance of us in our sin make Him less glorious? Is that the way unbelievers think? If not, why not?

I. The promise of Jesus makes Him the ultimate high priest.

Read . What does it mean to say that Jesus is the “guarantor of a better covenant”? By what means does Jesus guarantee the covenant? How does Jesus make the new covenant a better covenant?

II. The permanence of Jesus makes Him the ultimate high priest.

Read . How is Jesus able to save to the uttermost? Why is He the only one who can save ot the uttermost? What picture do you get when you picture Jesus interceding for you?

III. The perfection of Jesus makes Him the ultimate high priest.

Read . Why do we need a high priest who is perfect? What two ministries does Jesus carry out as our perfect high priest? Why can’t anyone but Jesus do these ministries effectively?
