What evidence do we see that, for peace, he did not need to be in the city or the temple? 2. Where else in scripture do we see the promise presented in verses 7 & 8? Lord’s Supper 1. In John 6:51, Jesus states that his flesh is living bread, and eating it provides eternal life. His disciples question him (verse 52). In verses 53 through 56, Jesus does not soften his statement or suggest he is speaking in parabolic or metaphorical terms. Instead, he reiterates, develops, and emphasizes his original statement. How do we reconcile these verses with the doctrine that the Lord's supper is a memorial event? Sermon: 2 Thessalonians 3:1-5, 16-18 I. Mission of the Word – Verses 1-2 1. Pastor Paul emphasized that biblical peace is more than a sense of calm, or the absence of conflict. How does biblical peace surpass these circumstances? 2. Share a time the Lord, through adversity, gave you peace. 3. According to the sermon, who (not what) is the cure for conflict, and how does authentic resolution of conflict occur? 4.
