2 Corinthians 10:1 NIV

Who is the most gentle person in the Bible?
Christians is a destiny - WE have passed from death to life.
1 John 3:11–18 NIV
For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:
Speaking gently to your enemies -
Romans 12:20 NIV
On the contrary: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
Proverbs 25:22 NIV
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.

Proverbs 25:21–22 NIV

Self-control — Noun, nominative, sg, fm, predicate nominative — Self-control - the trait of resolutely controlling one’s own desires (which would produce actions) - especially sensual desires.

Self-control

Self-control is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands—and then eat just one of the pieces.1196

Self-examination

There is a proverb in the business world that the man who takes no inventories finally becomes bankrupt.1197

The druggist of the town drugstore overheard a young boy talking on a pay telephone. “Hello, sir, I was calling to see if you needed a lawn boy. Oh, you have one. Well, is he adequate? Oh, he is! Thank you, I was just checking,” said the young boy.

The druggist then said to the boy, “Sorry you didn’t get the job, son.”

“Oh, no sir,” said the boy. “I’ve got the job. I was just calling to check up on myself.”1198

Self-image

Some people feel a need to cover up a lack of self-confidence by trying to make a big impression. A newly promoted Army colonel moved into his new and impressive office. As he sat behind his new big desk, a private knocked at his door. “Just a minute,” the colonel said, “I’m on the phone.” He picked up the phone and said loudly, “Yes, sir, General, I’ll call the President this afternoon. No, sir, I won’t forget.” Then he hung up the phone and told the private to come in. “What can I help you with?” the colonel asked. “Well, sir,” the private replied, “I’ve come to hook up your phone.”1199

At twenty, we worry about what people think about us.

At forty, we don’t care what people think about us.

At sixty, we find out that people haven’t been thinking about us at all. 1200

“I have often wondered how it is that every man sets less value on his own opinion of himself than on the opinion of others. So much more respect have we to what our neighbors think of us than to what we think of ourselves” (Marcus Aurelius).1201

The famous actor Peter Sellers, who played in the “Pink Panther” movies, once said he lacked a personality. “As far as I’m aware, I’m nothing,” he once said. “I have no personality of my own whatsoever. I have no character to offer the public. I have nothing to project.” In spite of his notable professional image on the screen, Sellers saw himself as a person without an identity of his own.1202

“With its implication of having power in oneself, or from implying a status of power. Means one who has a status of power or rule, who has power over something, whether this power...
To exercise complete control over one’s desires and actions - ‘to control oneself, to exercise self-control, self-control” Everyone who competes in an athletic contest exercises self-control in all thinking.
1 Corinthians 9:25 NIV
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
Acts 24:25 NIV

1 Corinthians 9:25 NIV

1 Samuel 13:12 NIV
I thought, ‘Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the Lord’s favor.’ So I felt compelled to offer the burnt offering.”
Prov
1 Peter 5:8 NIV
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Dear friends in Christ:
A young man call an old man and tell him that he wants a lawn job, the old man said I have a young man do my job already. The old man said gently, I got one already. The young man asked, is he reliable? The old man, he is good and sorry I got him working for me already. The young man said, no problem , I just call to check how am I doing.
