GROWING IN GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE
Lesson #5
Dr. Clarence Crayton Jr.
April 2, 2017
#1 We need to be grace people and truth people. Not half grace and half-truth. Not all grace on Mondays and all truth on Tuesdays. But all grace and all truth all at the same time.
#2 To speak with grace means: to say what is spiritual, wholesome, fitting, kind, sensitive, purposeful, complementary, gentle, truthful, loving, and thoughtful.
#3 Our ability to be gracious flows from recognizing how much God has done for us and how little we deserve it and our ability to grow spirituality is to understand God’s Word.
#4 There has been much confusion with regard to “growth” because of a faulty understanding of what “growth” means. “Growth” does not mean, “change” - it means, “add to.”
#5 We are told to believe and apply the Word of God to our faults and circumstances not attempt to change our behavior.
#6 Change is a direct result of proper application of God’s Word. The Word is what changes us as we add it to our lives.
