Jesus is born and is visited by the wise men

They fled to Egypt to protect Jesus because Herod was going to kill all of the children

They go back and we are introduced to John the Baptist

Jesus is baptized and then was tempted in the wilderness after being there 40 days

When he returned, he began his ministry and called his first disciples and then began to gather large crowds around him

he takes advantage of the great crowd and spends some time teaching them

this is the sermon on the mount

What do you know about the sermon on the mount?

v. 1 tells us that he took advantage of the crowd, got on top of the hill, and he sat down

sitting down was typical for teaching in that time, today it seems to be the opposite

they knew when he sat, it was time for him to teach them, so they gathered around him
