The proof that salvation has always been by faith: Abraham. 13-22 4. The content of our saving faith is belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus. 23-25 THE MEANS OF SALVATION: FAITH CONTENT OF FAITH: CHRIST’S DEATH AND RESURRECTION IN PAYMENT FOR MY SIN. Application 1. Using Scripture should be foundational for any defense of our beliefs. 2. We must abandon any thought that salvation comes any other way other than through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection paying for our sin. 3. Begin to process the futility of self-effort for righteousness for salvation and also for living for God. We must understand the power of God’s grace. This is laying the foundation for understanding our walk with God that is talked about in future chapters.
