1) Your story

No one else’s
Your highs and lows

2) Your talents & spiritual gifts

Not hobbies

Hobbies are for personal enjoyment - do them on your sabbath
Talents & Spiritual gifts have intentionality for others.

Talents result from genetics and training - everyone has them Christina or not

Peter was a fisherman
Matthew was an accountant

Spiritual gifts are given by the Holy Spirit to believers

Peter become a leader and preacher
You will see the the theology of the healing the next 2 weeks.
Matthew a writer
What’s your story, talents, spiritual gifts

3) v. 7 - Your energy

Eye contact

Money vs Healing!

Pull him up

Mother-in-law
Sinking in water
Are there people around you who need you?

v. 11 - Stay with him.

We can use our story, talents, and energy in 3 different ways

Neglect them and bury them
Build your own kingdom
Build God

The Power of Jesus name!

Not just a stamp on the end of a prayer.
A life as a disciple
Acts 1:1 “1 In my first book I told you, Theophilus, about everything Jesus began to do and teach”
They do what Jesus did.
Will you?

Ill Give you what I have recieved from Jesus.

Take inventory of what you have recieved from Jesus

What Good things have you seen God do in your life?
Big and Small
You or friend or family member still - Alive?
What are the lowest/highest points of your life? Was God there?
Prayer requests write them down.
Look for the good!
What are your talents and spiritual gifts
If you don’t think you have any start asking God and developing!
“Pray and move your feet”
Don’t get stuck on WHAT focus on WHO
We need to grow and develop.
WHO does the Holy Spirit have Infront of you right now
Intro - Has anyone ever asked you for something you don’t have.
We all have “Issues”
DSM‑5‑TR (published in 2022) includes over 150 distinct mental disorders
5 areas of life,
Let’s focus on Peter
The community is caring for each other. Peter & John see the need of an individual.
The Crippled man wanted money - Peter and John gave him “transformational healing in Jesus name” because that’s what they recieved for Jesus.
Luke 5 - Peter is a fisherman - catch men, Jesus heals the leaper
40 years of not being able to get around.
No social security.
God has always cared about the disadvantaged. - So he begs at the temple
They see them.
Sometimes we are too aware? What’s the holy spirit have for us today?
nfl cleats.

What does transformational mean?

Transformers
Fundamentally reshaping who you are internally and externally.
Transformation centers on becoming like Christ
The Crippled man
Spiritual unable to have access to God (so he thought)
Unable to have access to social life
Perhaps people are in this category
Your ID is not in sickness but in Christ!
You don’t accomplish transformation by yourself AND God doesn’t do it without you
What we see is the Church seeing people, God working and you working together.
The best is when
The church is looking for people
Each person is positioning themselves where God can work.

What kind of healing?

He asked for money and got healing instead.
Could you have a conversation that is about more than the person is talking about?
Healing brought glory to God!
He doesn’t have to heal the “issue” to use you.

The Power of Jesus name!

Not just a stamp on the end of a prayer.
A life as a disciple
Acts 1:1 “1 In my first book I told you, Theophilus, about everything Jesus began to do and teach”
They do what Jesus did.
Will you?
Not on the authority of Peter but on the risen Jesus.
Everyone has seen the man and no one knew what to do!
Acts 2:21 “21 But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’”
Acts Interconnections in the Story

Ministry is acting in the Name of Jesus. When all our actions are in the Name, they will bear fruit for eternal life. To act in the Name of Jesus, however, doesn’t mean to act as a representative of Jesus or his spokesperson. It means to act in an intimate communion with him. The Name is like a house, a tent, a dwelling. To act in the Name of Jesus, therefore, means to act from the place where we are united with Jesus in love. To the question “Where are you?” we should be able to answer, “I am in the Name.” Then, whatever we do cannot be other than ministry because it will always be Jesus himself who acts in and through us. The final question for all who minister is “Are you in the Name of Jesus?” When we can say yes to that, all of our lives will be ministry.

Just because you don’t have what someone asks for doesn’t mean you don’t give them Jesus.
The Book of the Acts 1. A Cripple Cured (3:1–10)

Thomas Aquinas once called on Pope Innocent II when the latter was counting out a large sum of money. “You see, Thomas,” said the Pope, “the church can no longer say, ‘Silver and gold have I none.’ ” “True, holy father,” was the reply; “neither can she now say, ‘Rise and walk.’ ” The moral of this tale may be pondered by any Christian body that enjoys a fair degree of temporal prosperity.

Money is not the issue. What are we relaying on? Or What do we value?

Ill Give you what I have recieved from Jesus.
