God's blank Canvas

Introduction

If you were to go around too painters and ask them where does their painting begin or to go up to a potter and say where does the making of a pot start? they’d both say pretty much the same thing. It starts with a blank canvas or a lump of clay. What is a blank canvas without a painter? Its just a sheet of paper. What is potting clay without a potter? Just a mound of clay. So what is the Earth without God? I say unto you a ball of nothing. As we have seen in verse one we see in verse two the same continuation that without God in the picture everything just happened by chance, by a fluke. My friend we’ve discovered in verse 1 that isn’t so. The Bible says in John 1:3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” So as we’ve established God is the creator of the universe not by accident but by His good plan. But as it was being created is where we come to verse 2 and in this verse there are some interesting statements that you just can’t look over. Much like the painter and the potter God is getting ready to begin by starting with His blank canvas so the title can only be God’s blank Canvas and i want us too look at some note worthy things in verse two as we go through the scripture.

No Style

When we come to the beginning of the verse we see it says, “And the earth was without form,” this term without form doesn’t refer to the earth not having shape but rather having no style to it, no color no paint if you will added to the canvas, no style and design put into the mold of the potters pot. Jeremiah 4:23 says, “I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; And the heavens, and they had no light.” Now i want to just get this out of the way that many christians who try to make evolution fit into the Bible will try and use this to say verse is in reference to all the fallen races and that there was all these species like the dinosaurs that in between verse one died from a flood just to prove that the Earth is older. While I disagree with all that I wanna say that God isn’t the author of confusion. Satan however is the great deciever and if will just trust the Word of God take it as simple as it is we will not be decieved by this false teaching. So we’ve established that God started with the earth “without form” without style.

No Substance

It says “without form, and void;”. This just Simply means empty or without inhabitants. Think of a blank canvas: no paint, no strokes, just potential waiting to be unlocked. Before God’s creative touch, the earth was just that—a blank canvas, void of form and substance. But here’s where it gets fun! Just as an artist transforms a blank slate into a masterpiece with colors and imagination, God filled the world with vibrant life and beauty. Our God is the ultimate artist, showing us that from emptiness can spring forth incredible creations! But it started with absolutely nothing. Yet again all this points towards how great our God is and as we go on we will see how he creates everything from nothing and he addresses emptiness in creation on days five and six especially. Not only though do we see that its without form and but...

No Shining

There was no light what so ever. Now i honestly don’t think we can even comprehend this kind of darkness but to put into perspective If we were ever in a room with no door with no windows and no light whatsoever we can picture that matter a fact give it a shot when you go home then we can visibly picture this. I don’t know why your house has a room you cant go into because there isn’t a door but maybe you just cut a hole in the wall and patch it back up. But this is the blank canvas like we’ve said and there is nothing.
