Part 3: Noah
Text: Genesis 7–11

Latest Trends / School / Youth Group 6/7
Imagine you’re in the hallway at school, and everyone is talking about the latest trend. TikTok dances, new slang, a game everyone is playing. For a few weeks it feels like this is it — the center of the world. But then it dies, and something new takes its place. The truth? Human kingdoms, trends, and names rise and fall. But there’s one story that never fades: God’s kingdom is coming, and nothing can stop it.
Main Idea: God’s Kingdom is coming, and nothing can stop it.
Context:
Israelites. Exodus. God’s Kingdom established.
Text:
Genesis 7:1
Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.”
Genesis 7:17
The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.
Genesis 8:1
But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided.
Genesis 9:13
I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
Genesis 9:20–21
Noah began to be a man of the soil, and he planted a vineyard. He drank of the wine and became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent.
Genesis 11:4
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”
Genesis 11:9
Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth. And from there the LORD dispersed them over the face of all the earth.

God’s Judgment Is Certain. God’s Salvation Is Secure. Human Sin Is Persistent. God’s Kingdom Is Coming.
1) God’s Judgment Is Certain (Gen. 7)
God is holy, and His judgment on sin is real.
You often think they’re untouchable: “I won’t get caught. It’s not that big of a deal.” The flood shows sin always has consequences. The “ark” wasn’t optional — it was life or death. Jesus isn’t optional either.
Don’t assume God doesn’t notice what happens on your phone, in your locker, or in your heart
The only safe place is in Christ, not in popularity, sports, or grades.
“God’s patience is not permission; it is space to repent.”
“Sin is cosmic treason against a holy God.”
2) God’s Salvation Is Secure (Gen. 8–9)
God delivers His people and seals His promises.
Teenagers live in a world where everything feels insecure — friendships, relationships, even their own identity. But God remembers His people.
The rainbow is more than pretty — it’s a promise: God doesn’t walk away.
When you feel forgotten (by friends, parents, coaches), God remembers you
Worship isn’t just Sunday music — it’s gratitude for grace that holds steady.
“The same God who judges sin is the God who saves sinners.”
“God’s promises are not dependent on our faithfulness, but on His.”
3) Human Sin Is Persistent (Gen. 9:18–29)
The flood cleansed the earth but not the human heart.
Students often think: “If I could just get a fresh start, move schools, or graduate, then I’d be different.” But sin follows us because it lives in us
Even Noah — the “hero” — fell. That means we all need God’s grace every day.
Don’t put your hope in your youth pastor, parents, or friends — they’re all sinners like you
Only Jesus changes hearts. Don’t settle for behavior change when you need heart change.
“You can change the world around man, but not the sin inside man.”
“The human heart is an idol factory.”
4) God’s Kingdom Is Coming (Gen. 10–11)
Human pride builds towers for our names, but God’s kingdom will stand forever.
Teenagers want to build “towers”: a name on the team, the stage, the friend group, the college application. But those towers crumble
God’s kingdom isn’t about making your name big, but His name known.
History isn’t headed toward TikTok fame, NBA rings, or Ivy League diplomas — it’s headed toward Jesus’ throne
Choose now: Will you live for your kingdom or God’s?
1 Peter 2:9-10
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
“The kingdom of man ends in scattering; the kingdom of God ends in gathering.”
Augustine: “Man builds cities; God builds His kingdom.”
Revelation 11:15: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever.”
Summary:
God’s Judgment Is Certain. God’s Salvation Is Secure. Human Sin Is Persistent. God’s Kingdom Is Coming.
Conclusion
Genesis 7–11 doesn’t just tell us about sin and salvation — it tells us where history is headed. God’s kingdom is coming, and nothing can stop it. The question isn’t whether His kingdom will win, but whether you will belong to it.
Response:
Are you living for your name, or His
