Preparation for Passover and Unleavened Bread

We Our approaching Good Friday, The Passover, Easter.

We are approaching the memorial of the Date on which death and judgement passed overThe houses of the Israelites.

Exodus 12:12–13 KJV 1900

12 For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

This was a Judgment Day in Egypt. Like the judgement day that is to come.

The penalty was death. Because the wages of sin is death.

That judgement does not discriminate. It was going to come to the Egyptians and the Israelite.

But, Because The innocent Passover lamb was sacrificed, And it’s blood Covered your house, that Judgement would Pass Over You.

Our judgement is coming. We are sinners and Death is our just reward. But the Innocent Jesus suffered and died in our place. So that Death will pass over us and we will have everlasting life.

But today is not about that,Today is not about the 10th plague.

Today is a bout the 9th Plague

Exodus 10:21–23 NKJV

21 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness which may even be felt.” 22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days. 23 They did not see one another; nor did anyone rise from his place for three days. But all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

When was the last time you say true darkness?

you are all liars. You have seen black. But true darkness is invisible.

Your eyes see reflections of light. But darkness reflects no light. zero.

So, you do not see darkness, you are aware of the total absense of light.

Where is Darkness

See, God never created darkness. Darkness is not a thing. Darkness is the absence of light.

When you turn on the light. you know where the source is. It comes from somewhere. Because it is something.

When you turn off all the lights. It is dark.

Where did the darkness come from.

What is the source of the darkness.

What caused the Darkness?

Nothing. the darkness was always there waiting for the light to leave.

If we remove the light from this room, there will be darkeness, \

If we remove the sun from the sky, there will be darkness.

If we remove the lgith from you, there will be darkness. IT IS THAT EASY.

Where is the darkness. Everywhere that light is absent.

it needs no creation

it needs no source

it needs no invitation

it needs no reason.

IT JUST NEEDS LIGHT TO BE GONE.

IF YOU want darkness in your life, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO CREATE IT, just remove the light.

But, the darkness in our life, is like the darkness in Exodus.

It is darkness that can be felt.

The Darkness may be

Fear and lack of confidence?

Weak and helpless?

feel alone facing great odds?

lost, cant see a way forward

Evil,

deppressed

that anger,

that hate.

How do you manage the DARKNESS in your life?

you dont. There is nothing to manage because the darkness does not exist, it is merely the absence of light.

sO DONT MANAGE THE DARKNESS, MANAGE THE LIGHT.

Fortunately, all darkness is dealt with in the same way. Because all darkness is the absence of light, do deal with darkness, you add light.

How do you manage it, You manage the light.

you want darkness, remove the light.

you want medium darkness, add medium light.

you want it bright. add lots of light.

The same applies to the darkness you can feel. But it is a different light from the one you see.

If you are angry, depressed, lost, you can move to Mercury, next door the sun, It is not gonna solve your problem.

Just like normal darkness, it needs light to be solved. BUT because it is a different darkness, a darkness you can feel, it needs a different light?

Where do I get this life changing light from?

Who created this light,

Genesis 1:1–4 NKJV

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

Many may be asking, didn’t he just say we need a different type of light that the one outside? Is this brother confused?

No, my brothers and sisters, This is not the light we see outstide this morning. The light outside is from the Sun. But, This light was there on day 1, yet God did not make the sun until 3 days latest.

Genesis 1:14–19 NKJV

14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

The sun was created on the fourth day. So what Light was there on day 1, 2, and 3?

It was not sunlight?

it was not eskom or candle light. ?

He made the Sun and the Moon, He made the firmament. But this light? he just said let it be there. Because he already had it.

When do we get comfirmation of this fact in the first book of the bible? In the last book of the Bible. Which says.

Revelation 21:23–25 NKJV

23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory and honor into it. 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there shall be no night there).

No one could have expressed this better than the Psalmist in Psalm 27.

Psalm 27:1–3 NKJV

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.

Where is this light from? The Lord.

What is the source of this light? The Lord.

Who is this light? The Lord.

You have the darkness of

Fear and lack of confidence? ADD THE LORD.

Weak and helpless? ADD THE LORD.

feel alone facing great odds? ADD THE LORD.

lost, cant see a way forward? ADD THE LORD and see your life, LIGHT UP.

Light is on a spectrum, it takes many colors.

Joy

Faith

Love

Hope

So you feel hopeless and pointless, add hope and purpose.

You feel hate, add love.

You feel purposeless, add faith.

Don’t focus on the darkness. Maybe you cant manage that. But you can manage what you do about. You can choose to keep the lights off.. Or you can Add so much light tha tthis darkness dwindless in comparison. See if your life dont change then.

This Passover, when there is plague of darkness and danger, trust in the Lord. For the Lord shall be your light and your salvation.
