Introduce yourself and share your testimony. Joke about not having much time the last time you spoke at sfc
1. Nourish in Faith
1. Nourish in Faith
1 Timothy 4:6–8 “If you put these things before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed. Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.”
We start out seeing paul say put these things before the brothers, That greek work before in greek literarly means put under. AkA, start a foundation, Becasue the foundation is under everything and it holds together what is above it. Go back and read through 1st timothy and see what all of these things are paul talks about, Its basicly how to live your life and rules to follow.
You need to set a foundation in christ and his life to be able to boldy and rightly be disicples and spread the gopsel. That is literaly the whole reason for this passage.
some of your bibles may say profane and old wifestales
Dont have anything to do with the world, or its silly myths and lies it has to tell you today
Mention youre young and you see the things yall are facing today and all of the worlds lies
Blind bartimeaus
to become a good servant of Christ, you must nourish yourself in the words of faith and sound doctrine, just as you athletes or band members or all the other clubs train diligently. also by prioritizing time for personal Bible study and prayer, setting the foundation for a life of positive influence in school.
its also discipline, somedays I dont want to study and somedays that I dont want to read my bible. This discipline reflects Christ’s commitment to God’s teachings in all Scripture. By treating spiritual practice as vital as physical exercise, you honor God through their daily lives and decisions.
2. Hope in Our Labor
2. Hope in Our Labor
1 Timothy 4:9–10 “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.”
FOR this we work and we sweat, for this we push ourselfs and may face adversity.
Hacksaw ridge? Yeah well if you havent you need to its that peak. explain the movie and commitment. He had his hope set on something higher.
Football and struggling together pushing the prowlers.
And if we can trust anyone on facing hard times or toil and strive its paul okay, what book is considerd to be the happiest book in the bible?
Guess what its so happy and rainbows but yet paul wrote it in prison, yk why? bc he had his hope set on the living God, who is the savior of all people.
1 John 2:2 “He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” Propitiation means an atonement especially of Jesus Christ.
He died not only for the ones who will recive him, but for everyone.
3. Lead by Example
3. Lead by Example
1 Timothy 4:11–13 “Command and teach these things. Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching.”
This right here. I belive this is one of the main reasons the lord led me to this passage was because of these verses right here.
For me I really have to live by this. Just because youre young doesnt mean you cant live a life devoted to christ and spread the Gospel and make disicples. DONT LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHEN THEY SAY GO HAVE FUN YOURE YOUNG! ITS JUNK!!!
Going back to the first verse in our passage. What you do now sets the foundation for your life when you become older. START LAYING THE FOUNDATION NOW SO YOU CAN MAKE MORE DISCIPLES, AND TURN THOSE OLD DESTINATIONS INTO NEW DISCIPLES!
This is a challegne to you to command and spread the truths of the gospel boldly in your daily interactions. you should not be discouraged by your youth but set an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. Each interaction can be a testament to values derived from Jesus’ own teachings and life, encouraging others to follow Christ. The call here is to embody the transformative power of the gospel through consistent, Christ-centered living amongst your classmates.
4. Cultivate Your Gifts
4. Cultivate Your Gifts
1 Timothy 4:14–16 “Do not neglect the gift you have, which was given you by prophecy when the council of elders laid their hands on you. Practice these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
Listen to me right now, each and every single one of you have a special gift. God made you perfectly, girls, he didnt make you like that girl and he didnt make that one girl like you, guys, he didnt make you like that one dude and he didnt make that one dude like you.
YOU ARE MADE PERFECTLY, dont listen to those myths rememember, All this junk and demoic stuff about switching genders and being trans is bologna, its junk and demoic, its the emeny trying to tell you that God messed up making you, he didnt. each and every single one of you have a gift.
use it.
Stay strong in the bible, stay strong in prayer, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Timothy is urged to not neglect his gifts. By persistently developing these you have gifts, you can improve as community builders in the school walls who encourage others toward the gospel mission
you need to see the importance of your faith in schools and how you can influence your peers positively. you can navigate the obsticles of your social environments while remaining committed to your faith and values. Reroute someones old destination turn them into new disciples.
possibly an invitation
If youre sitting in this room right now, and you dont know Jesus as your personal lord and savior, put everying I just said on the back burner right now and listen to me.
Jesus Christ loves you and took a brutal and embarrassing beating on the cross for you. He doesnt want your works right now, he doesnt wants your smarts in the bible right now, he doesnt want your notes you took on this sermon right now, all he wants is your heart. He wants your faith.
Mans tesitmony about planning to murder both of his parents.
