1)A Prayer of Petition to The Covenant God. (v.1-3)

Psalm 54:1 “O God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might.”
vindication by name
God’s sovereign help
Psalm 54:2 “O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.”
prayer should be God’s word
prayer has always been the defense of the saints
what good is prayer if God does not hear ? James 5:16

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.
Reality of the unrighteous Psalm 54:3
Psalm 54:3 ESV
For strangers have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before themselves. Selah

With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O Lord, for it is good. For he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies.
free will is not in regard to a mans decision in terms of God, but i will not have to be made to do it1
