Hispanic Church Plant

The vision for the Hispanic Ministry

Core Missionary Strategy

Entry, Evangelism, Discipleship, Church Formation, Church Leadership, Exit

Starting with the end in mind - Exit

That means when we are finished with this

there will be an indigenous church

that is functioning and and separate

from Riley’s Creek Baptist Church.

We are not starting a second campus

We are not starting something that will be a Hispanic Ministry

although it may start that way

the goal is to launch a Hispanic church

and to let them be a church on their own.

Entry

The entry work for the church plant is a

multifaceted approach.

The more ways we can enter into the Hispanic community,. the better

We start the same was we work in missions

Pray, Give, Go, Send

Pray

Pray for a person of peace

The person of peace is a person, couple, or people

receptive in the community of Hispanics

who welcomes the message of the gospel

acts as a bridge

and is open to spiritual truth.

pray for the future church plant

pray for planters and leaders

pray for those that need to hear the gospel

pray for the various entry strategies that will take place.

Give

All of the finances for this startup entry strategy

will be coming from the Missions account.

If there isa specific need later on

we can ask the congregation for that.

We are holding in our budget

a set amount for the salary of Patricio Solis

We are doing this for two reasons

When we began the visa process

we told the government that we had money available for salary

for the church planter.

So that money needs to stay in our budget

as a placeholder for that purpose.

The second reason is

if you pray for rain, you better bring an umbrella

WE are praying for this church plant

so we better be prepared to pay the church planter.

There are other avenues that can be used

to help with the salary later on

but for now, that money will stay

as a good faith seed to show

we are serious about this work

Another part of giving is bringing Patricio here

thank you for you willingness to for the $1500.

Currie is the one what purchased the plane tickets for Patricio

this way it looks better for his visa

and it’s cheaper to buy the tickets in the US

than it is to get them from Ecuador.

So when we pay for the tickets

we are actually paying Currie

so that it doesn’t look like he is doing work for the church

even though he is going to be doing work for the church.

Patricio will be preaching on April 12th in the morning.

My family wants me to visit my niece in Jessup, MD

from April 20th to 27th.

From April 7th to the 19th, I’m your slave...

I give you permission to treat me like an illegal immigrant...

So we’ll be using him for a lot of the entry work

and prayerfully as part of the ESL class.

The plane tickets actually cost $2300

if we are agreeable,

can we put forth the extra money to get Patricio here?

This is where we get to experience

mission work in our own backyard.

These are where we need people to help with

the carious entry strategies we are setting up.

Much like going on mission to a foreign country

how many of us actually speak Spanish?

Therefore there are people in leadership

that need to lead and speak as a missionary.

But that means we get to

walk alongside of the mission

and be hands and feet to see the work done.

Most of what we can do to help

is hold the rope for those that are trained.

SEND

There may be people that are part of RCBC

that want to enter into this field and

be a permanent part of the plant

that is the joy of deploying into the field.

Entry Strategies

ESL Class

The ESL Class is an opportunity to

offer a class to the Hispanic community

to have them come to the church

and meet the leadership of the future church.

It is an opportunity to build community and

to possibly meet that person of peace.

All entry level strategies are for the purpose

to find the people of peace in the community.

Prior to the class

we need people to pray, and go

the prayer requests have already been stated.

Going involves going this week on Thursday

to the five schools in the area

and giving them flyers to hand out.

We have already received permission to hand them out from the school board.

the flyers are already printed.

They will need to be distributed to the five schools

Rocky Point Elementary, Cape Fear Elementary

Cape Fear Middle, Malpass Corner

and Heide Trask.

Go to the front office

each of the flyers are in packs of ten

ask the front office admin to

p[lace the flyers in every teacher’s box

ask them how many teachers there are

and give them that many packs of ten.

Easy.

Tomorrow, I will be putting up the banner

in the front of the church.

I’m going to see if Bryce will

put up another banner at Paul’s place.

There is already a social media post on Facebook.

If you see the post

send it out to all your friends.

Even though they don’t speak Spanish

there may be someone of their friends that does.

During the class we need people from RCBC

We need people to help with childcare, registration, and snacks.

Pastor Currie and his mother

will be leading the classes.

After the first class

We will have a better idea of

who has attended and begin the work

to build connections to the rest of their community.

Other Entry Strategies

Other entry strategies this year include

a Hispanic Back Yard Bible Club

Surveying and prayer walking

through the Hispanic Communities

There will be training for both of these events.

Evangelism

The evangelism should come more organically

through the efforts of the ESL class, Bible Club, and prayer walking.

We will be ordering tracks in Spanish

to help with these tasks

Discipleship

Once we have people begin to receive the gospel

and even if they are just interested

we can begin to train them in the BIble

The easiest thing would be to disciple them

beginning in John or Matthew.

This will also take training on our part

and the possibility of the same help of

childcare, registering, and snacks.

We are supporting the work of the ministry

Church Formation

Church formation is the most organic part of this

people who are part of a discipleship group

add worship music and you have a church.

Church Leadership

Once the church is formed and is worshipping

the church begins to get trained.

First they get trained how to be a church

second they get trained on how to do church

and lastly those that express a calling

get trained on how to lead a church.

Exit

Once the church is established

and leadership is in place

we leave the church to become the church.

We hope that by that time Patricio is in place

and can lead the church

Rocky Point Christian Academy

The joy of having a school on our campus

is we get to do the same process with these kids

as we do with the Hispanic church plant

NATIONAL (JUDEA AND SAMARIA)

Morrisville

We have a huge answer to prayer

I mentioned last night about the Jains

I met a man named Sudherson

He is a South Asian from Tamil Nadu State

and is now living in Durham

He is leading a church of about 30 South Asian families there

all from the Morrisville area.

The captain of his cricket team is a Jain.

I am in contact with Sudherson

and we are planning times to get together

with as many as want to come for

prayer walking in that area

attending a cricket match

worshipping with the church he has gathered

and learning from him.

Arthur and I met a missionary

reaching South Asians in Durham this past Saturday

He is translating the Bible into a

more modern form of Hindi

and has been working on it for the past 18 years.

He is also a good contact to help reach the

South Asians in Morrisville.

This Summer, a couple I met in Nepal

His name is Oscar and he is from Spain.

he is a partner with the IMB

and in a leadership role currently with them.

He is moving to Wake Forest this summer

and will live in North Carolina for a year

so he can legally immigrate to the US

so he and his wife can go back on the field as career missionaries.

Oscar’s role with the IMB is

He is the leader for reaching Hindus and Muslims in Nepal.

So while he is here

we can leverage him, along with Cross Cultural church in Durham

to reach the South Asians in the Morrisville Area.

God has set all this up!

Boston

Kody and I are working on dates to go there

to be part of the festival and be a help to the church.

Once I have dates, I can begin to promote

the dates and times and the cost.

New York

I am working with Russell, Kanez, and Yesmin

to come there for a sifting week.

We do have the opportunity to work with NC Baptist

Coasts for the City in December.

Washington DC

This event leaves tomorrow.

please pray for Cynthia, Sammy Jo, and myself

as we drive there with Dr. Cloer

and two other ladies from the area.

We will give a report sometime after we return.

WORLD (UTTERMOST PARTS)

South Asia

If you missed the report from Nepal

set up a time to meet with me over some coffee.

What’s next for South Asia?

Please pray about where to go next.

We have all the opportunity in the world now

since going to Nepal.

The people I met in Nepal are

the leadership for all of South Asia.

So the entire affinity of South Asia

is available to go to and

help with the work going on there.

We just need to decide and pray about

what work we want to be involved with.

Our goal is not just to reach the Jains

but to see the Jains reached

and that means we have a better effort overseas

to reach as many South Asians as we can.

I heard this past week

Currently in all of South Asia

there is one missionary unit to about 23-24 million people

putting this into perspective

the population of Florida is about 23-24 million people

that would mean one missionary for the

entire sate of Florida.

Our strategy to reach these South Asians and the Jains

is an outside-in strategy.

We will reach those in our local locations

equip them

and send them with the gospel to their own people.

However, we can get closer than NC to reach these people

and help our sent ones

by encouraging them, helping their families

and going to help to do the work they need us to do.
