Over the past several weeks we have been exploring . Through these verses we have looked at the progression of what it means to be in Christ and as Christians what helps us in our journey of understanding more about Christ and our mission for Him.
Our journey began by when we first accept Christ as our Savior - making Him Lord of our lives. In Paul’s letter to the Romans he writes:
Romans 10:9–11 ESV
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Romans 10:9 ESV
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom. 10
After accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior we are to abide in Him - to dwell in His presence through obedience to Him. One would ask how can we do this. It is through our gaining understanding and learning more about Him which is accomplished by being rooted, built-up and established in the Word of God.
As we become more deeply rooted, built-up and established we are able to content and defend the faith as false doctrines and empty deceit of those who try to persuade and lead you away from your faith in Christ.
We are not tossed to and fro by the waves of uncertainty, doctrine, human cunning, craftiness in deceitful schemes.
Ephesians 4:13 ESV
until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
By putting on His fullness we put on our new character and nature with the new regenerate self. We put to death the old and take on the new of Christ. It is a threefold because we are chosen by God, set apart by and for God, and loved by God.
The journey with Jesus is a real

When we say we are clothed in Christ what are some of the virtues we should exhibit and possess?
Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
All of these are manifestations of love that bind us together.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 ESV
But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
Ephesians 5:2 ESV
And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

It through the body of Christ that we grow. It is through the body of Christ that encourage one another. It is through the body of Christ express thankfulness to God and it is through the body of that we learn and teach and admonish one another.
When the word of Christ dwells with us we
Colossians 3:16–17 ESV
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Where do we go from here? We have a better understanding of how we grow and manifests in those who follow Christ and let Him dwell in us but what next.
God has chosen us and set us apart for a specific task and purpose. That purpose is to share the gospel and bring other to the saving knowledge through Jesus. We are called to share God’s love and to reach out to our neighbors and the world around us.

How do you reach out to others to show and share God’s love?
God has chosen us and set us apart for a specific task and purpose. That purpose is to share the gospel and bring other to the saving knowledge through Jesus.
Sharing the Gospel can be frightening. We might think that we cannot do it because we don’t have the skills or all the answers. The truth is, is that we don’t have all the answers.
We have God’s spirit dwelling amongst us and in us empowering us. We are empower by God with authority to go into all the nations, teaching them that God is with us until the end of the age.
Matthew 28:18–20 ESV
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
How do you reach out to others to show and share God’s love?
The Great Commission is that we go into the world.
Mat. 28:18
This is our mission - to reach out neighbors both close and far. It is not as hard as we think. It is about a ministry of presence and being available. The three videos we are going to watch have easy ways to reach out. Hearing God’s call and answering the call is the harder part for us to do. Remember God has given you the power and not given you a spirit of fear or timidity.
As you view the videos think about these questions and about how you can to your neighbors.
How many of you know your neighbor? Do you know their name(s)? Where did they come from? How many children or grandchildren do they have?
What were some of the reasons they used not know their neighbor? What did they do?
What were some of the reasons they used not know their neighbor? What did they do?
In the second video what opportunity did they use to introduce themselves to neighbor?
What are some of the ways you might use to meet and and befriend your neighbor?
What is an obstacle that prevents you from meeting your neighbor?
Is there an opportunity that might help you overcome this obstacle?
What are some of the things that you can do build a relationship with your neighbor?
Building relationships build a trust and a trust in God.
