This title is also found in Codex Alexandrinus (5th century), the best witness, along with Codex Ephraemi (also 5th century), to the text of this work.
Other mss contain the titles, “Revelation of John, the one who speaks about God” (apokalypsis iōannou tou theologou); “Revelation of Saint John, the one who speaks about God” (apokalypsis tou hagiou iōannou tou theologou); “Revelation of John, the one who speaks about God, [the] evangelist” (apokalypsis iōannou tou theologou kai euaggelistou); and “The Revelation of the Apostle John, the Evangelist (hē apokalypsis tou apostolou iōannou kai euaggelistou).
