Introduction: (Me)

Boldness = Behavior born out of belief
Boldness = Behavior born out of belief
What you pray for reflects what you believe about God.
This SEND ME prayer puts me in a rhythm that breaks me out of ruts, routines and religion.
Matthew 11:28–30 ESV
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:20–30 ESV
Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent. “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.” At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28–30 The Message
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Matthew
(We) There is a rhythm of grace in our walk with Jesus. The down beat was our salvation. Now that we are saved we serve.
Saved People Serve People
Do our prayers reflect that? I want to encourage you to do something. As you pray BOLD prayers SEARCH ME, BREAK ME & SEND ME - write them down. Start a journal. When I did this discipline it revealed some weak prayers rhythms in my life. Based on what I read - most of my prayers were for me or those that I loved! Bless my nieces. Help him find a job. Help in marriage. I should pray those prayers - but they are weak and limited.
BOLD prayers are
Pray LESS about what you want God to do for you.
Pray MORE about what we could do for God.
There is a change of frequency in my prayer life when I pray less about what can do for me and more about what I can do for God.
(God) God intends for our lives to move with Him. His plan is not circular (Lion King) it is linear (Cross) When we pray parallel with God’s purpose in the world and the pace of our lives are in step with Him the light comes on! That is why the SEND ME prayer is such a BOLD prayer.
Transition: Every Christ follower should pray the BOLD prayer SEND ME. I want to give you two biblical insights as we pray SEND ME.

1. Pray In Rhythm With God

John 20:21 ESV
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
We receive PURPOSE
Matthew 28:
Matthew 28:18–20 ESV
And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
We receive AUTHORITY/COMMISSION
Acts 1:8 ESV
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
We receive POWER & PLAN
Matthew 24:14 ESV
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew
We receive PERSPECTIVE

2. Pray A Right Response To God

Jonah = NO I’m Not Going
Jonah = NO I’m Not Going
Jonah 1:2–3 ESV
“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me.” But Jonah rose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the Lord.

Isaiah 58:10 ESV
if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.
Isaiah 59:10 ESV
We grope for the wall like the blind; we grope like those who have no eyes; we stumble at noon as in the twilight, among those in full vigor we are like dead men.

tells me not to fear things that can destroy the body but things that can destroy the soul. There is an element of uncertainty and risk with any international travel. But Cheryl's obedience to "GO" gets her away from the dangers of complacency, comfort and ignorance.
I am protecting my wife! I'm much more terrified of her living a materialistic, complacent lifestyle in a self serving society and being disobedient than I am of any illness or tragedy.
"Jesus called His followers to be a lot of things, but I have yet to find where He warned us to be safe. We are not called to be safe, we are simply promised that when we are in danger, God is right there with us. And there is no better place to be than in His hands." - Katie Davis

If that makes you uncomfortable I get it. Remember last week when we asked God to SEARCH ME? What did God reveal? Pride, bad habit or selfishness? During this time of communion would you ask God to break you of that? That is a big step in moving into a more dynamic relationship with Jesus.
As you pray SEND ME we are going to start making you aware of church, community and global serve opportunities.
