You will die in your sin!
There are some pretty impressive sastictics that are available and yet most times some people will argure over sastictics.
but this one sastic can not be disputed.
1 out of every 1 will die!
No one wants to die, no one welcomes death, but it will come unless Jesus returns for His Church and you are a part of it!
You will die in your sin, this is the statement that Jesus made to the releigious leaders in .
in verses 13-20 we seen in our last study together in chapter 8 that the releigious leaders tried to discredit Jesus by useing His testimony against Him saying it was only on the count of two or three wittnesses that one should be beleived.
but then in verse 19
in verse 21
Jesus siad to them
I am going away
You will seek me
and
you will not find me,
you will die in your sin
Where I am going, you cannot come!
Here in this verse, Jesus has said 5 very profound statements.
now we know the religious leaders seek to take custody of Jesus, they are just waiting for the right time, they want to kill kim.
Jesus tells them, you will seek me and you will not fine me!
This sounds like some harsh words from our Lord here, after all we know that Jesus didnt come to judge but soley to seek and to save the lost, but here He is saying to the releigious leaders that they would not find Him when they sought after Him after He has left, oh they would be seeking Him, but Jesus knew they would not find Him.
This was a true statement for the Jewish leaders of that day and could be a true statement for many of this day as well.
I am reminded of Jerm.
29:11-14
I am also reminded of and :
1 p
James
God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
So many times people come to church, they want to come to the Lord, not to have their hearts changed but only wanting something from Him,
They want their circumstance to be changed.
To be made well, to fix there marriage, to get a job, a promotion at work.
to break a bad habit, the reasons can be many, but the point is the same in many cases,
a lot of people seek after Jesus for what He can do for them, He is their rescue guy you could say.
Something bad is going to happen unless God does something for me, then as soon as they get out of their fix its right back to the same ole same ole ways.
Some will say well at least they came and were seeking after Jesus.
I will tell you that they never had a encounter with Jesus because no one has ever ever had a encounter with Jesus and went away the same person as before.
When a person comes seeking after Jesus for the wrong reason, I beleive that Jesus just says thats far enough, He opposes the proud.
But yet when a person humbles them selves before the Lord, He embraces them!
He Touches them and no one has ever been touched by Jesus and leaves the same person!
In Jerm.
29:12-13
Jer 29
when you call upon me
when you pray to me
when you seek me with all of your heart, this is when a person finds the Lord.
The religious leaders were going to be seeking Jesus for the wrong reason, with the wrong motive, and for this reason they wouldnt find Him.
In fact Jesus even told them that they would die in their sin!
For where He was going they could not come!
this was the second time Jesus had made this statment to them, where I am going you cannot come.
And I left one thing out, another reason they woudnt find Jesus because He was going to the Father.
The olny way they would get to Jesus was to go to the Father in Heaven, But yet Jesus has said that the only way to the Father was through Him!
In other words, you will spend the rest of your life seeking me, and you will die in your sin, for where I am going, you cannot come!
I want to point something out to you here,
Look at the word sin, Jesus said they would die in their sin, its in the singular.
meaning it was only due to one sin that would bring about death to them,
death being definded as seperation from the Father.
also being defined as physical death, because they would die physicaly before they would find Him, meaning they would never find Him!
This verse should bother every born again believer of Christ, people will die in their sin!
The sin of unbeleife of Jesus of who He is,
2 cor 520
Paul tells us that we are ambassadors for Christ! and that God is making His appeal through us!
We Implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God!
God making His appeal through us,
The word appeal in the greak is parakleo, It means to come along side of one, to pray for them, God wants us to come along aside of people, telling them and showing them Jesus, so they may be reconciled to God.
We implore you, implore is a word that means we are begging you to do this.
On the behalf of Christ!
People will die in their sin.
Does this bother you?
Does it bother you enough to do something about it?
now this statement blew the minds of the Jewish leaders,
The Jews thought that Jesus was meaning that He was going to kill Himself and a sa result he would go to the deepest place in hell.
The Jews believed that whenever a person took their own life it meant automatic hell, in fact they believed that it was a special place deep in hell for such people.
I would like to add here, Jesus said they would die in their sin, not sins in verse 21, that sin was singular meaning one sin, not believing in who jesus was.
The Great I Am!
I have been asked many times about what happened to ones spirit if they had taken their own life,
I will tell you it does not , Does NOt mean automatic Hell!
I ask this one question, for which sin did Jesus not die for?
It was not believing on Him as the Son of God, The Great I Am
The only sin that is automatic hell is no belief in Jesus.
The Jews thought this must have meant taking His own life because Jesus had said they could not come where He was going.
The Jewish Leaders as reliegious as they were surley wasnt going to hell they thought.
They would consider Jesus going to hell over themselves.
This is only a result of religion.
how did Jesus respond to them as they thought He was saying that He was going to take His own life, vs 23
vs 23
Jesus makes a clear distinction between Himself and them,
here Jesus confirms the location of heaven and hell.
You are from below, from hell itself.
you are from hell,
Jesus said He was from above, meaning heaven.
Jesus said you are of this world,
The Greek word here for world is Kosmos, it has the meaning of arrangement in a ordly fasion, to make beautiful, its actually where we get the english word cosmetics from.
Its making reference to the organized satanic beliefs that opposes and exalts itself above all that is Godly.
all of this being from the world comes down to this, the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life.
Jesus finished this verse with this statement, I am not of this world!
Do Not be conformed to this world.
Oh we are in this world, but we are not of this world,
There are a lot of people who call themselves Christians who are of this world.
They have allowed themselves to be conformed to this world.
A person cant have the love for the world and for God.
They will have no desire for the word of God, or for the lost!
What will be the result is no more than organized religion.
I told you that you would die in your sins, notice this word sins is different from verse 21, the word sins here is in the plaural form, meaning many sins.
