1 Corinthians 11:23-26
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
The scriptures tell us 1 Corinthians 11:27–29 “ Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.”
If you struggle with sin, its not wrong to partake. If you think God is ok with your sin, you shouldnt partake, especially if you are not a believer.
We read in Ephesians 5:31–33 “ “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”
Its not a 1+1 but one. Communion represents us being in Christ and Christ entering in us. You are what you? Eat. This is a symbol of this amazing Passover of God redeeming us, saving us. Making us His Bride.
His breaking, for us, His blessed, Holy body, shredded on a tree for us. His blood, used as indelible ink, to write a new covenant written that say it is finished!
As they come now, asking that we all take part in this communion together to celebrate our true permanent relationship and that is within Christ. (Since they are so unique, I want to partake of this in a unique way if slides)
1 Corinthians 11:23“ For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread;
24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”
Lets Partake
25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death till He comes.”
Lets pray then partake together.
Partake
Pray finish.
