Good morning, church family! If you’re visiting with us today, welcome! We’re right in the middle of our series, “Unveiling Eternity,” walking through the Bible’s big, beautiful story together.
Last time we explored God’s eternal nature—how He’s always existed and gently reveals Himself to us step by step.
Today we’re going deeper: we’re discovering how this same forever God shows His power by creating everything and keeping it all going strong.
This isn’t dusty history—it’s living truth that meets us right where we are.
When the news feels heavy, when life feels shaky, when the world seems out of control, God steps in and says, “I made this, and I’m still holding it together.”
Get ready—today’s truth is going to fill you with fresh wonder, real hope, and bold confidence to trust Him more!
Picture This…
Picture This…
Imagine you’re sitting at the edge of the Grand Canyon as the sun peeks over the horizon.
Golden light spills across those giant rock walls, painting them in fiery reds, oranges, and glowing golds. The canyon stretches forever. Birds ride the wind above you. A cool breeze carries the sweet smell of pine.
In that moment you feel tiny… yet wonderfully connected to something huge and alive.
Who carved this masterpiece?
Who keeps the rivers flowing, the trees growing, and every creature breathing?
This isn’t random chance.
This is the handiwork of our brilliant Creator—actively holding every detail together, right now.
That same God is the One we worship today!
Let this picture stir something deep inside you. If He can create that, just imagine what He wants to do in your life today!
Our Key Verse – Nehemiah 9:6
Our Key Verse – Nehemiah 9:6
“You are the Lord, You alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and You preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships You.”
This was prayed during one of Israel’s hardest seasons—yet the people remembered: God made it all… and He keeps it all going.
This was prayed during one of Israel’s hardest seasons—yet the people remembered: God made it all… and He keeps it all going.
That truth gave them courage then, and it’s here to give you courage now.
Let’s Pray
Eternal Father, open our eyes to see Your creative power and Your constant loving care in brand-new ways. Fill our hearts with wonder and faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Three Life-Changing Truths
Three Life-Changing Truths
As we look at this verse and a few others, three beautiful truths rise up and lift our spirits:
God is the Intentional Creator who brings beauty and
order from nothing.
God is the Active Sustainer who keeps every breath and
every star shining.
God’s loving plan is guiding everything toward a brand-
new, perfect creation.
Let’s soak these in!
Truth 1: God Is the Intentional Creator
Truth 1: God Is the Intentional Creator
Look again at Nehemiah 9:6—“You have made heaven… the earth and all that is on it…”
God didn’t throw the universe together by accident. He spoke it into being on purpose!
Psalm 33:6-9 puts it like this: “By the Word of the Lord the heavens were made… He spoke, and it came to be; He commanded, and it stood firm.”
Stars, oceans, mountains, you—everything came from His voice!
And Isaiah 40:28 reminds us: “The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary.”
While we get tired and overwhelmed, our Creator never does. His wisdom never runs out.
Friend, this means your life is not random.
The same God who hung the stars designed you with purpose.
The same voice that calmed the chaos of creation can speak peace and beauty into your chaos today.
Let that truth light a fire in your heart!
Truth 2: God Is the Active Sustainer
Truth 2: God Is the Active Sustainer
Nehemiah 9:6 doesn’t stop at “You made it all”—it says “and You preserve all of them.”
That means God didn’t just start the world and walk away.
He’s actively keeping everything alive every single second!
The Apostle Paul told a crowd in Acts 17:
“In Him we live and move and have our being.”
Every heartbeat? Gift from God.
Every breath? Gift from God.
Isaiah 42:5 adds: God is the One “who gives breath to the people on it and spirit to those who walk in it.”
Even when life feels fragile—health struggles, job stress, family worries—God is right there, holding you up with the same power that keeps the planets spinning.
Breathe deep and smile: the God who runs the universe is personally taking care of you!
Truth 3: God’s Plan Is Leading to a Brand-New Creation
Truth 3: God’s Plan Is Leading to a Brand-New Creation
While the prayer in Nehemiah looks back at creation, it also points forward with hope. God isn’t just keeping things going—He’s guiding history toward something even better!
Romans 8:19-23 tells us all creation is “groaning” right now because of brokenness, but it’s waiting for the day everything is set free and made brand new.
And Isaiah 65:17 promises: “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.”
One day soon, God will wipe away every tear, heal every hurt, and make everything beautiful again. No more pain. No more brokenness. Just perfect joy forever!
Whatever you’re facing today—climate worries, injustice, personal pain—the story isn’t over. God’s loving hand is steering everything toward glory. That’s hope you can stand on!
So… How Do We Live This Out?

For Anyone Seeking God Today
For Anyone Seeking God Today
If you’ve never said yes to Jesus, look around—this beautiful world shouts that a loving Creator exists.
But we’ve all messed up and broken things.
The incredible news? Jesus came, died, and rose so He could make you new and bring you into His family.
Right now you can pray: “Lord, I see Your hand in everything. Forgive me. Make me new. I want to follow You.”
If that’s your prayer, come talk to me after the service—I’d love to pray with you and celebrate the new life God is starting in you today!
Church, let this truth settle deep in your soul:
The God who made the Grand Canyon, who keeps every star shining, who’s guiding history toward perfect beauty—that God is holding you right now.
Go live with wonder. Go live with courage. Go live with joy.
Because the best is still to come!
Amen.
