God’s Authority Revealed In His Name: Exodus 3:13-14
God’s Authority Revealed In His Name: Exodus 3:13-14
God does not appeal to anyone higher. He is the highest authority.
“I AM” Means:
Self existent (He depends on no one)
Eternal (No beginning or end)
Unchanging (Always present)
God’s authority is inherent, not given. He doesn’t say.”I was” Or”I will be”, He is always present and sovereign. Our obedience is not optional. God speaks with absolute authority.
God’s Authority Over Kingdoms: Daniel 4:34-35; 2:21; 7:13-14
He removes kings and sets up kings. His dominion is an everlasting Dominion. Authority as universal, over heaven and earth, and Is unstoppable,”None can stay his hand”.
The same”I AM” Who spoke to Moses, controls, history, directs kingdoms, and fulfills his will. No government, culture, or power, overrides God. We trust his rule, even when the world world seems chaotic.
Authorith Given to Christ: Matthew 28:18-20
Authorith Given to Christ: Matthew 28:18-20
After his resurrection, Jesus declares, he now exercises all authority. This authority includes heaven and earth. He sends his disciples based on that authority. The authority of “I AM” is now clearly revealed in Christ. Jesus is not just a teacher, He is Lord.
In the New Testament, Jesus uses the same identity (John 8:58). “Before Abraham was, “I AM”).
This shows unity within the Godhead and shared Devon authority.
Authority Within The Godhead
Authority Within The Godhead
The father, the son, and Holy Spirit, shares one to buy nature, operates with perfect unity, and functions with order and not in quality
God The Father
He thought it, planned it, and designed it.
God The Son, Jesus Christ
He Bought it, paid the price for it, and died for us.
God, the Holy Spirit
He taught it, he was the revealer, the finisher, and the completer.
Application
Application
Understanding the authority of the Godhead is absolutely essential if we wish to do the will of God, Matthew 7:21-23. If God is authoritative, we must place our desires aside and follow his decree. The inherent authority possessed by the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is rooted, in the very nature and identity of God.Consequently the answer God provided to Moses regarding his identity, “I AM WHO I AM”, Exodus 3:14 should still resonate with us today, rather than exalting Ourselves in Placing our own selfish desires ahead of God’s will, we must acknowledge his authority and humble ourselves, under the mighty hand of God 1 Peter 5:6
