Main Point: The birth of the Church, initiated by the Holy Spirit descending on Pentecost to empower believers for global gospel proclamation.
Characteristics of the Passage: radical change in a legal, emotional, and spiritual way. The same people who nailed Jesus on the cross are now selling their properties and belongings to help their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Main Point 1-4: God fulfills His promise by giving them the gift that is the Holy Spirit.
Ref. Verses:
Isaiah 64:6 - “All of us have become like something unclean, and all our righteous acts are like a polluted garment; all of us wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind.”
John 15:5 - “I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.”
Main Point 5-13: The Holy Spirit gives them the ability to speak in languages that were not taught to them which allowed everyone to understand each other.

Application Point: We are sinners in need of a savior, thankfully we have one.

Ezekiel 18:32 - “For I take no pleasure in anyone’s death.” This is the declaration of the Lord God. “So repent and live!”
Application Point: Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins. Hate sin, love God.

Application Point: Be an Eden.
