Called to Discipleship (Matt. 4:19)
Called to Discipleship (Matt. 4:19)
“Follow after me and I will make you fishers of men!”
It is an invitation to follow in the steps of the Savior. Issued to a few specific men. While he taught the multitudes, he trained the twelve.
It was a call to new priorities.
Jesus has called us to be taught by him. He gives us new priorities and purposes. He requires first allegiance in our lives.
Called to Relationship (Matt. 11:28-30)
Called to Relationship (Matt. 11:28-30)
An invitation to come to ME.
Christ promises us rest - it is a spiritual rest.
The “yoke” of the scribes and Pharisees added burdens to the people that they were not even willing to bear themselves.
Jesus has born the burden of our sin, and given us his righteousness.
We are “in the yoke” with Christ in relationship. He lifts our burdens and provides peace.
Called to Fellowship (John 21:12)

Bring what you caught (at his direction). The meal is prepared and the new fish counted. 153 large ones!
The invitation is given to eat.
Nothing else will satisfy your life like that time spent with the Lord in fellowship. (not work, sports, recreation, entertainment, etc.)
Provision - Jesus provides for continued fellowship
Provision - Jesus provides for continued fellowship
It was a reminder of the miracle of the loaves and fishes. As the followers of Christ, they did not need to worry if their needs would be met. Christ provides for His own.
Restoration - Jesus renews our purpose in spite of our failure
Restoration - Jesus renews our purpose in spite of our failure
Have you come to find fellowship with Christ? Have you received his invitation?
