He is Risen! and the church says?
I hope you brought your Bibles with you this morning… listen, folks, that bible you are holding in your hand from Genesis to Revelation is about one person, and that person is Jesus!
Acts 4:12 NASB95
“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
The world claims there are many paths, but that is not what God’s word states.
John 14:6 NASB95
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
It’s All About Jesus!
Say it with me! It’s All About Jesus!
Each year, we remember the crucifixion, his death, and burial, and without Christ's shed blood and death on the cross, we would all be lost!
Hebrews 9:22 NASB95
without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
But today, Easter Sunday, He rose, and it was His death and bloodshed that paid the penalty for sin, but it was His resurrection that secured the victory over death and sin for eternity!
1 Corinthians 15:55 NASB95
“O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?”
Death could not hold Him, the grave could not keep Him, and Satan couldn’t stop Him.
He is Alive! Hallelujah! Christ Arose!
Song (Low in the Grave He Lay) 2:30
It’s All About Jesus!
Easter serves as a powerful reminder of Jesus' everlasting love for you, so profound that He was willing to endure not only the immense pain of the cross but also carry your sins upon Himself.
Unlike you and me, who tend to love only those who love us back, Jesus didn’t wait for us to love Him first.
Romans 5:8 NASB95
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
It’s All About Jesus!
It was that Old Rugged Cross where Jesus gave His life, showing an inexpressible love to you and me. And it is that Old Rugged Cross that you must cling to, knowing that true life can only be lived through Jesus.
Song (The Old Rugged Cross) 2:45
It’s All About Jesus!
The gospels record at least eight instances of Jesus restoring the sight of the blind, and we know He performed many more beyond those documented.
John 8:12 NASB95
Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, “I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
Just as He brought the blind from darkness to light, from blindness to sight, it is the cross that brings us from the darkness of sin to the light of truth!
This light, this salvation given freely by Jesus is available to everyone who believes. The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 3:9 that “God is not willing that anyone should perish, but that all would come to repentance.”
Song (At the Cross) 2:30
It’s All About Jesus!
Jesus doesn’t just save us and abandon us.
No, Jesus desires a relationship with us even when we sin. God’s word says that if we confess those sins, He loves us and restores us back into a right relationship with Him.
Think of Peter, who denied Jesus three times. When Jesus rose from the grave, He appeared to Mary Magdalene and the other women. Look what He tells them in Mark 16:7.
Mark 16:7 NASB95
“But go, tell His disciples and Peter”
Tell Peter! Isn’t that beautiful?
Jesus sought Peter out, ready to forgive him.
Jesus does the same for you and me… when we sin, when we fail Him, He is ready to forgive.
Psalm 86:5 NASB95
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon You.
Song (Beautiful God) 3:30
It’s All About Jesus!
Jesus forgives us... He restores the broken and makes them new.
It’s All About Jesus!
It is Jesus who gives us the power to live a victorious life.
It is Jesus who, through His death, defeated the power of sin in our lives, giving us the strength to choose right instead of wrong and to achieve victory instead of defeat.
1 Corinthians 15:57 NASB95
but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is in Christ alone that we can have hope, be freed from life's guilt, and have no fear in death!
Song (In Christ Alone) 3:45
It’s All About Jesus!
Every other religion's leader has died... but not Jesus.
He conquered death, He rose from the dead by His own power! Today, at this very moment, He is sitting in Heaven, reigning as King and will reign forever as King.
You may not see Him as King, and the world doesn’t recognize Him as King, but one day everyone will bow and acknowledge Him as King.
Philippians 2:10–11 NASB95
so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
It’s All About Jesus!
Is He your King?
Have you accepted Him as your Savior?
Soon all of creation will bow to Him, and we who have placed our faith in Him will also worship Jesus, who has overcome, forever!
Forever He is Glorified!
Forever He is Risen!
He is Alive!
Song (Forever - We Sing Hallelujah) 5:00
Before we close in prayer, if you're unsure where you stand before Jesus, if you're uncertain whether you're saved, or if you're unsure that you'll go to heaven when you die, please come and talk to me.
I’ll stay after the service and gladly have that conversation with you.
The Bible makes it very clear: there is only one way, and that way is Jesus because it truly is All About Jesus!
Let’s pray.
