Easter: From Crucifixion Through The Resurrection
The resurrection of Jesus transforms despair into hope;
Showcasing that death leads to life and faith brings forth new beginnings in Christ.
Fulfilling Forgiveness from the Cross
Fulfilling Forgiveness from the Cross
34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, because they do not know what they are doing.” And they divided his clothes and cast lots.
Jesus' profound forgiveness even in the agony of crucifixion!
Jesus' plea, "Father, forgive them," shows His overwhelming love and purpose!
Even in suffering and darkness, Jesus was paving the path to redemption!
This sets the foundation for the resurrection;
Reminding us that through our daily struggles, we can trust in God's plan for transformation and new beginnings!
35 The people stood watching, and even the leaders were scoffing: “He saved others; let him save himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!” 36 The soldiers also mocked him. They came offering him sour wine 37 and said, “If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself!”
38 An inscription was above him: This Is the King of the Jews.
39 Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”
40 But the other answered, rebuking him: “Don’t you even fear God, since you are undergoing the same punishment? 41 We are punished justly, because we’re getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
43 And he said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
44 It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three, 45 because the sun’s light failed. The curtain of the sanctuary was split down the middle. 46 And Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.” Saying this, he breathed his last.
It was at this moment where reality sets in. A moment that the disciples got to contend with.
A moment not too different than what we get to contend with as we consider who or what we put our trust in.
A faith moment...
Finding Hope in the Empty Tomb
Finding Hope in the Empty Tomb
1 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 They went in but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood by them in dazzling clothes. 5 So the women were terrified and bowed down to the ground.
“Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” asked the men. 6 “He is not here, but he has risen! Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,
This was astonishing and joyous seeing the empty tomb.
The women's encounter with the angels and the powerful declaration "He is not here, but has risen," mark the turning point from despair to miraculous hope.
This signifies that in Christ, death does not have the last word!
In the believer's journey;
Moments of hopelessness can be transformed into triumph when trust is placed in the resurrection.
Faith Rekindled in Broken Bread
Faith Rekindled in Broken Bread
30 It was as he reclined at the table with them that he took the bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, but he disappeared from their sight.
32 They said to each other, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us while he was talking with us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us?” 33 That very hour they got up and returned to Jerusalem. They found the Eleven and those with them gathered together, 34 who said, “The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!”
The transformative recognition of Jesus in the breaking of bread.!
This post-resurrection encounter illustrates that the risen Christ desires to be known intimately!
The disciples' eyes were opened, leading them to faith and action!
In your spiritual walk;
Recognizing Christ's presence daily can revitalize your faith and purpose, turning idle moments into powerful testimony!
The resurrection of Jesus transforms despair into hope, showcasing that death leads to life and faith brings forth new beginnings in Christ.
The Gospel
The Fall of Man
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, in this way death spread to all people, because all sinned.
23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God;
The Hope For Man
We need a SAVIOR
8 But God proves his own love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
16 For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Anyone who believes in him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
So WHAT do YOU believe?
