Jesus is sealking to the Pharisees and telling that those who do not enter the sheepfold (which is a walled enclosure for keeping sheep safe at night) y the door and come in another way are thiefs and robers
but those who enter by the door, the gatekeeper will open that door.
b/c the sheep recognize his voice, they will respond to his call.
shephards in the near east would lead their sheep rather than drive them while following from behind. this emphsizes how they draw them by their word. He LEADS them rather than follows them. HE watches what is ahead.
Because he leads them by his voice, they will not follow a stranger but instead flee from strangers
