Gods Unending Love
WELCOME:
WELCOME:
Good evening and welcome to our Good Friday service, you maybe asking yourself why is it call good Friday?
PRAYER:
PRAYER:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
IT IS FINISHED
IT IS FINISHED
30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
On Good Friday, Jesus’ final words, "" (John 19:30), signify the completion of His redemptive mission, the fulfillment of prophecy, and the full payment for humanity's sins. This declaration marks a divine victory, not a defeat, where the separation between God and humanity is bridged.
Key Significance of "It Is Finished" (Tetelestai):
Key Significance of "It Is Finished" (Tetelestai):
The work of saving humanity from sin is entirely completed, requiring no additional efforts. Redemption Accomplished:
The "cup of wrath" mentioned in prophecy was consumed, meaning the penalty for sin is fully paid. Debt Paid:
Jesus, in control until the end, defeated the power of sin and death. Victory Over Death:
Despite being the most somber day, it serves as a victory, changing the cross from a symbol of shame to a throne of grace. Symbol of Hope:
Good Friday is the turning point that allows for the hope of Resurrection Sunday, having removed the barriers of sin, death and separation.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. 21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight—
Once you have your communion can I get you to stand please?
As we prepare to take the communion I would like you to take some time to ponder where you are at in your walk with God,
it was because of Christ love for us that He became the ultimate sacrifice and through His death we have victory.
When we accept Jesus in our hearts and ask Him to be Lord of our lives, He presents us holy and blameless and by His grace today we are saved.
BODY
Father we thank you that as we take the bread we are reminded that it represents the body of your son that was broken for us.
Let us eat the bread together.
BLOOD
Father as we take the cup we are reminded that it represents the blood of your son that was shed for the remission of our sins.
Let us drink the cup together.
1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed? 2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4 Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
