Eternal Hope in Christ

Easter Sunday Sermon
Text: 1 Corinthians 15: 1-20
Introduction:
Today is of course the day in which we remember that Christ rose again from the dead!!! The tomb could no longer hold Him and he had defeated death! We actually remember this each and every time we worship on the first day of the week.
The resurrection is the center point of everything that we believe!!! It is of great importance to the Christian and we ought to treat it as such…The world has made the meaning of such an important event diluted by the distractions that it throughs at it, but as a child of God it is the most important event in history.
Today we will be looking at a passage of scripture that explains some different aspects of the resurrection that is of utmost importance to anyone. This morning the title of my message is “Eternal Hope in Christ.
Outline:
Hope for the Believer
Hope in our Faith
vs 17
If Christ never were to raise from the dead then we would be completely lost in our sins, and everything that we have believed is 100% false
Everything that we hold onto would be false.
The Bible
Our Salvation
The Return of Christ.
“But now is Christ risen from the dead”
We have a blessed hope!
Hope in our Work
We need to be busy for the cause of Christ.
We all do many things in the church and outside of the church for the cause of Christ
Soulwinning - seeking the lost
Coming to church
Ministries
Everything would be for nothing…
But now is Christ risen from the dead
We have a blessed hope
Hope in our God
We have put our faith and trust in God, and we pray to Him for protection, for help…
We praise the Lord for everything that He has done…
We desire to have a relationship with God
We desire fellowship with Him in His house
If Christ never rose again from the dead, then all of this that we have and desire about God is indeed also nothing,…
“But now is Christ risen from the dead.
Because we have this hope and it is an eternal hope what should we be doing.
Vs 20
1 Corinthians 15:20 “But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.”
Is Christ our firstfruits…He will be once we die, but is He right now?
Simply means is God first in your life…The old testament sacrifices were the firstfruits…They were the best of the best and God always received that, because He was to be first. Now when you die this will be the case if you are saved, Christ will become the firstfruits, but why not have him be first while you are alive. And then you can have that eternal hope in putting him first.
Hope for the unbeliever
None…
What are you living for?
Family
God
Yourself
None of this will matter if you are not saved.
