The domino effect

Acts 13:33 KJV 1900
God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.
building up to this point Paul was just released from Paphos journeyed for a little and ended up in Antioch.
on the Sabbath Paul attends the temple and they began reading the law of moses. then those there directed to Paul and basically gave him the floor if there was anything he wanted to say.
Paul then goes on to preach the GOSPEL of Jesus’ death burial and resurrection.
Psalm 2:7 “I will declare the decree: The Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; This day have I begotten thee.”
Paul saw fit to correlate this Psalm to that of Jesus’ crucifixion however we want to focus specifically on what transpired after he accomplished what was promised. (when Jesus was resurrected)

Word focus

Beget- yaw-lad’ - typically defined as to bear young (have children)
but we know that Jesus was not born on Zion, and we know he was the son of God even before the foundations of the world.
but another context of this root word is to make a declaration, or coronation.

C̵ORONA´TION, n. [from corona, a crown.]

The act or solemnity of crowning a king or emperor; the act of investing a prince with the insignia of royalty, on his succeeding to the sovereignty

Typical Coronation customs

The anointing oil- woman poured her perfume from the alabaster box on Jesus
The royal robes and crowning- as they mocked and scourged he was clothed in fine robes and crowned with a crown of thorns.
The public declaration- his crucifixion was an open public display for the whole world to see. and he dwelled on this earth 40 days for proof of his resurrection.
Rules over the kingdom!

The transformation in his declaration

now that we have an understanding that Jesus dying on the cross is a literal coronation ceremony my ultimate goal is express what all exactly happened upon his resurrection.
Psalm 2:7 “I will declare the decree: The Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; This day have I begotten thee.” = Royal installation/ decree
Acts 13:33 “God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.” = the fulfillment of the begetting promise
Context: these next two portions are parts of dreams that Daniel interpreted that are actually foretelling of the coming of Christ.
Daniel 7:13–14 “I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.” = this is his transfer of authority/ dominion
Daniel 2:44–45 “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.” = Inauguration of eternal kingdom
Context: Hebrews, although the author and audience is specifically unknown, is a book to Christians on the teachings of the Gospel.
Hebrews 1:5–6 “For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.” = Universal recognition of his enthronement.
Closing
I am thankful for this resurrection day! its not just some day that our God defied mortality and came back from the dead. But our KING has taken his rightful throne, and sits there to this day making intersession for you and me!
