Proverbs: Instructions for living while pondering the difficulties of life.
Solomon, David’s son is cited as author of Prov 1:1; 10:1, 25:1. Lemuel may be a pen name (pseudonym) for Solomon but we can’t be sure. This name Lemuel is mentioned no where else in the Bible.
The foundation of Proverbs is “the fear of the Lord” (1:7), the evidence of faith is trusting God’s counsel which stands (19:21) and not one’s own understanding (3:5-7). The purpose of Proverbs is to inspire faith in the Lord (22:19).
