From Calvary to Victory

Base Text: Luke 24:1-6 / Romans 8:11

You are all very welcome in the house of the Lord!

It is a joy to welcome each one of you on this very special morning.

If you are here for the first time, please feel at home—this house is yours, too!

INTRODUCTION

Today is a different kind of day…

Today is a day to celebrate life, hope, and victory!

Today, we are not here to remember a dead Jesus…

We are here to celebrate a LIVING Jesus!

And I believe that you are not here by chance…

👉 God has a word for your heart today!

Open your heart, connect with the Holy Spirit,

because something new can begin in your life today!

In Luke 24, the Bible tells us that very early on a Sunday morning—nearly 2,000 years ago— the women who followed Jesus had prepared aromatic spices to complete the burial rites to honor their Master went to the tomb; but upon arriving at the tomb… Surprise! …

📖 The Bible says: “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here! He has risen!

Hallelujah!!

But let me tell you something powerful right at the start:

Before the resurrection… there was Calvary.

Before the victory… there was pain.

Before the glory… there was the cross.

Before the crown of honor… there was the crown of thorns.

And perhaps someone here today has arrived experiencing exactly this:

a calvary in the family

an emotional calvary

a spiritual calvary

You look at it and think: “It’s over… there’s no way out…”

But God brought you here today to tell you:

👉 It is not the end… it is the process!

🔹 1. CALVARY IS NOT THE END

Calvary was the most painful event in history.

Jesus was:

betrayed

rejected

humiliated

wounded

Nailed to a Roman cross…

The worst kind of death… pain, humiliation.

And on the cross, He said: “It is finished.”

For many, it seemed like the end; they thought He had given up... failed...

but that day was...

👉 Illustration:

It’s like a movie you pause halfway through...

If you stop at the sad part, you’ll think the story ends badly.

But those who watch until the very end... see the victory!

It is the same with God:

👉 You are seeing only the "middle of the story."

👉 God has already seen the end!

🔥 Direct Application:

There are people here thinking that:

their marriage is over

their spiritual life is over

their dream has died

But God sends this message to you:

👉 You are still at Calvary... but Sunday is coming!

The process includes the silence...

🔹 2. GOD’S SILENCE IS NOT ABSENCE

After the cross... came the silence.

Friday: pain

Saturday: silence

Sunday: miracle

Saturday was the hardest day:

Jesus did not speak

the heavens seemed closed

nothing was happening

But listen to this:

👉 God was at work in the silence!

🔥 Illustration:

When a seed is planted, you see nothing... silence... darkness... pressure...

But beneath the soil, life is beginning!

It is the same with God:

👉 When you see nothing... He is bringing something new to life!

🔥 Application:

If you are living through a "spiritual Saturday":

praying but seeing no answer

struggling but seeing no change

God says to you today:

👉 I have not stopped working in your life!

Romans 8:38–39 ESV

38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

🔹 3. THE RESURRECTION CHANGES EVERYTHING

On the third ...day... something never seen before happened!

The stone was rolled away.

The tomb was left empty.

Death was defeated!

🔥 And I want to declare something here today:

👉 the same God who raised Jesus from the dead... can—and will—change your story!

📖 Romans 8:11 says:

“The very same Spirit who raised Jesus... dwells in you!”

That is powerful!

That means:

what is dead will live again

what is broken will be restored

what seemed lost will return

🔥 Powerful Illustration:

Perhaps your life today feels like a “sealed tomb”:

without joy

without hope

without direction

But when Jesus arrives...

👉 no stone remains in its place!

🔹 4. FROM CALVARY TO VICTORY IS A PROCESS OF FAITH

The resurrection did not happen by chance...

It fulfilled a promise!

👉 God had already declared that it would happen!

And I want to declare something over your life here today:

👉 God will fulfill what He has promised for your life!

Even if:

it seems delayed

it seems impossible

it seems lost

🔥 Application:

Perhaps you walked in here today without faith, without hope...

Or even feeling distant from God...

But this message is for you:

👉 Jesus did not die for him… He died for *you*!

👉 And He rose again to give *you* a new life!

🔹 CONCLUSION (3–5 min)

From Calvary to victory...

This is not just Jesus’ story...

👉 it is the story God wants to write in *your* life... and in *mine*!

Perhaps you arrived here on a “Friday”:

pain

suffering

tears

But God sends this message to you:

🔥 the Sunday of resurrection is coming!

🔥🙏 Altar Call (everyone standing)...

Church... this is a serious moment...

a moment of decision... a moment of life!

Perhaps you walked in here today carrying...

pains, sins, guilt, fears…

Perhaps you have drifted away… perhaps you have never had a real encounter with Jesus…

But today…

👉 Jesus is calling you!

It is not by chance that you are here.

It is not a coincidence—it is God’s purpose!

The Word has been released… the Holy Spirit is touching hearts…

And I want to extend an invitation to you:

👉 If you desire to:

surrender your life to Jesus — Raise your hand and say, “I want to!”

be reconciled with God — Raise your hand and say, “I want to!”

start a new chapter in your life — Raise your hand and say, “I want to!”

or fully consecrate your life to the Lord — Raise your hand and say, “I want to!”

👉 To those of you who raised your hands and said, “I want to”… come forward.

Do not be ashamed…

Today could be the day that marks your life forever!

The Bible says:

👉 “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation!”

Today is a day for a fresh start!

Today is a day of salvation!

👉 “Do not be ashamed… this is a place for a fresh start, not for judgment!”

🙏🔥 PRAYER OF SURRENDER AND CONSECRATION

Pray with me—with faith, with sincerity:

Lord Jesus,

Today I place myself before Your presence…

I acknowledge that I need You…

I acknowledge that I am flawed, that I am a sinner…

But I believe that You died for me on the cross…

And I believe that You rose again on the third day!

Jesus…

come into my heart!

Be my Lord… be my Savior!

Forgive my sins…

cleanse my life…

write my name in the Book of Life!

Today I surrender everything to You:

my dreams

my pains

my past

my future

I choose to live for You, Lord!

🔥 Holy Spirit,

fill my life right now!

Strengthen me… guide me… transform me!

I consecrate to You:

my mind

my heart

my actions

my entire life!

From this day forward…

I no longer live for myself…

👉 I live for Christ!

And I declare with faith:

a new story begins today! In the name of Jesus,

“Lord, just as You conquered death…

bring life now!

Where there is pain — bring healing!

Where there is emptiness — bring Your presence!

Where there is death — bring resurrection!

For we believe…

👉 the tomb is empty!

👉 Jesus lives!

👉 And miracles still happen!”

Remember, Lord, every tear,

every silent struggle,

every heart that arrived here burdened…

And may it leave today, by Your grace, renewed!

🔥 We declare victory!

Victory over pain,

victory over sorrow,

victory over every work of the enemy!

For we do not trust in a dead Christ…

👉 but we trust in the One who rose again and is alive forevermore; Jesus is Lord. He is the Alpha and the Omega!

Lift up, Lord, the one who was downcast!

Strengthen the one who was weak!

Renew the one who was without hope!

And as we leave this place, may we depart with this certainty:

👉 the Lord has heard us

👉 the Lord is with us

👉 and the victory has already been released!

Receive, Father, all honor, glory, and praise!

And may the grace of the Lord Jesus,

the love of God the Father,

and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit

be with you all, today and forevermore!

In the name of Jesus,
