Hebrews 7:20-8:6
6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.
The writer of Hebrews is declaring the total sufficiency of salvation in Christ by carefully explaining that the permanent nature of Jesus’ priestly ministry secures our relationship with God for all of eternity.

Freedom From Guilt and Assurance of Salvation
Freedom From Guilt and Assurance of Salvation
He has a permanent priesthood. He is always interceding.
Psalm 110 is a psalm of David that speaks of the messianic king that would come to save his people. This psalm is the basis of his teachings in this chapter.
Melchizedek was a priest and king who appeared in the book of Genesis without any record of birth, death, parents, or genealogy. All of the priests of the Old Testament were limited by their lifespan and were not without fault. The writer of Hebrews is saying that Jesus has a divine oath from God that guarantees His permanent priesthood.
Hebrews The Guarantee of Our Salvation
The Greek word for “guarantor” or “surety” appears in the New Testament only in
If you come to Christ for salvation, you come to a priest that died for your salvation and now He lives forever and reins in heaven. This is the guarantee of your salvation.
Application:
Stop trusting in your own works.
Stop letting your feelings affect your security.
It is a very common experience today for Christians to experience getting saved over and over. They feel an ongoing need to deal with the guilt of their sin. You may have made decisions in church services or revival services and went to bed that night feeling great but then woke up one day not long after that realizing that you still have problems. People will spend their whole lives seeking an experience that will finally “stick”.
3. Confess your sins regularly knowing you have One that pleads your case. 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
When God the Father sees the Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven, He sees His own appointed surety which guarantees your salvation.
You may wonder how Christ can speak to the filthiness of your sin. All Jesus has to say is “he’s mine.”
When He speaks to the Father, He speaks on the basis of His death on the cross.
4. If you have not yet, you must prepare for eternity.
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, 28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone. Do you have this peace?
