THE BLOOD OF JESUS DOESN’T JUST COVER YOUR PAST, IT COMPLETELY CHANGES YOUR FUTURE.

1. THE BLOOD SPEAKS A BETTER WORD

Hebrews 12:24 NLT

You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.

A. THE BLOOD SPEAKS OVER YOUR SIN

Romans 5:8 NLT

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

YOU DON’T GET CLEANED UP BEFORE COMING TO GOD, YOU COME TO GOD AND HE CLEANS YOU UP.

JESUS DIDN’T WAIT FOR YOUR PERFECTION TO GIVE HIS LIFE.

YOUR WORST MOMENT DIDN’T DISQUALIFY YOU FROM HIS GREATEST ACT.

B. THE BLOOD SPEAKS OVER YOUR SHAME

Isaiah 1:18 NLT

“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.

SHAME SAYS “HIDE”, BUT JESUS SAYS “COME CLOSE.”

GOD DOESN’T EXPOSE YOU TO EMBARRASS YOU, HE RESTORES YOU TO HEAL YOU.

THE BLOOD DOESN’T JUST FORGIVE, IT REMOVES THE STAIN.

C. THE BLOOD SPEAKS OVER YOUR IDENTITY.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!

YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU DID, YOU ARE WHO HE SAYS YOU ARE.

THE CROSS DOESN’T IMPROVE YOU, IT MAKES YOU NEW.

YOU PAST MAY EXPLAIN YOU, BUT IT DOESN’T DEFINE YOU.

2. THE BLOOD MAKES A WAY

Hebrews 10:19 NLT

And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.

A. THE BLOOD REMOVES DISTANCE.

Ephesians 2:13 NLT

But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.

YOU’RE NOT TOO FAR GONE, YOU’RE JUST ONE STEP AWAY.

THE BLOOD BRIDGES THE GAP YOU COULDN’T CROSS.

B. THE BLOOD GIVES ACCESS.

Matthew 27:51 NLT

At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart,

WHAT USED TO BE RESTRICTED IS NOW WIDE OPEN.

JESUS DIDN’T JUST DIE FOR YOU, HE OPENED THE DOOR TO YOU.

C. THE BLOOD BRINGS PEACE.

Colossians 1:20 NLT

and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

PEACE ISN’T FOUND IN CIRCUMSTANCES, IT’S FOUND IN CHRIST.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO STRIVE FOR PEACE, YOU CAN RECEIVE IT.

3. THE BLOOD STILL WORKS.

1 John 1:7 NLT

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

A. IT STILL FORGIVES.

Psalm 103:12 NLT

He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.

IF YOU’RE STILL BRINGING IT UP, IT’S NOT GOD REMINDING YOU.

GOD DOESN’T KEEP RECEIPTS, HE CANCELS DEBT.

WHAT HE FORGIVES, HE DOESN’T REVISIT.

B. IT STILL RESTORES.

GOD DOESN’T JUST FORGIVE, HE REBUILDS.

YOUR STORY ISN’T OVER, IT’S BEING REWRITTEN.

WHAT THE ENEMY MEANT FOR DESTRUCTION, GOD USES FOR REDEMPTION.

C. IT STILL SAVES.

Romans 10:9 NLT

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

SALVATION ISN’T EARNED, IT’S RECEIVED.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING TO SAY YES TO JESUS.

ONE MOMENT WITH JESUS CAN CHANGE YOUR ENTIRE ETERNITY.

CONCLUSION/CLOSE

THE POWER OF EASTER ISN’T JUST AN EMPTY TOMB, IT’S IN THE BLOOD THAT MADE THE EMPTY TOMB POSSIBLE.

GOD IS NOT MAD AT YOU. HE’S NOT WAITING TO PUNISH YOU. HE’S BEEN WAITING TO WELCOME YOU HOME.
