RESURRECTION SUNDAY – COMMUNION MESSAGE
“Because He Lives… This Still Works” --- OPENING (SET THE MOMENT)
1 Corinthians 11:26 KJV 1900
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
We are not just remembering something that happened—  we are declaring something that is still working right now.
--- 1. THE BLOOD STILL SPEAKS (OLD → NEW) Exodus 12 – The blood applied to the doorposts In Egypt, the blood was not symbolic—it was applied.  Death did not check their behavior—it checked the blood.
Hebrews 12:24 KJV 1900
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
This morning, we are not here because we are perfect—  we are here because we are covered. The blood still speaks:  Mercy. Grace. Protection. Redemption.
--- 2. THE BODY WAS BROKEN… SO WE CAN BE MADE WHOLE
Isaiah 53:5 KJV 1900
But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed.
When we take this bread, we are not just remembering a broken body—  we are receiving what that broken body purchased.
Healing is part of the covenant.  Spiritual. Emotional. Physical.
Because He got up… what He paid for did not stay in the grave.
--- 3. THE RESURRECTION VALIDATES IT ALL
If Jesus had stayed in the grave…  this would only be a memorial. But because He got up—  this is not a funeral meal,  this is a covenant celebration.
Romans 4:25 KJV 1900
Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
The resurrection is the receipt.  Everything Jesus paid for has been accepted. The empty tomb declares—the blood worked.
--- 4. THIS IS PERSONAL
This is not just something we do as a church—  this is something we need. I need His mercy.  I need His strength.  I need His healing.  I need His covering.
And if we are honest this morning—we all do.
--- 5. EXAMINE, BELIEVE, RECEIVE
1 Corinthians 11:28 KJV 1900
But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
We do not examine ourselves to disqualify—  we examine ourselves to realign our faith. Not “Am I worthy?”  But “Am I trusting in Him?”
--- COMMUNION THE BREAD
1 Corinthians 11:23–24 KJV 1900
For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Lord, we thank You for Your body—broken for us.  Because You were broken, we can be made whole.  We receive healing, strength, and wholeness in Jesus’ name.
(Take the bread)
--- THE CUP
1 Corinthians 11:25 KJV 1900
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
Lord, we thank You for Your blood—shed for us.  It covers, it cleanses, and it speaks for us even now.  We receive mercy, forgiveness, and covenant in Jesus’ name.
(Drink the cup)
--- CLOSING DECLARATION (RESURRECTION POWER)
1 Corinthians 11:26 KJV 1900
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
Because He lives—  we are forgiven,  we are covered,  we are healed,  we are redeemed. This still works—because He’s still alive.
--- FINAL EXHORTATION
This is not just something we remember—  this is something we walk in. Because He lives…  this still works.
