9 Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.
10 She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping.
11 When they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it.
12 After that, He appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the country.
13 They went away and reported it to the others, but they did not believe them either.
14 Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
16 “He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
17 “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues;
18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed. And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.

Christ Has Risen!
He didn’t stay dead.
The Lord seems to be found of Sundays…
ISIDORE OF SEVILLE:
The sacredness of the Lord’s Day is apparent from the holy Scripture.
This was the first day of the world.
On this day the elements of the creation were formed.
On this day Christ rose from the dead.
On this day the Holy Ghost came down from heaven on the apostles.
On this same day the manna in the wilderness was first given.
(New Testament II: Mark (Revised) (Why the First Day of the Week Is Set Apart)
How appropriate is it for Jesus raise from the dead on a Sunday.
10 She went and reported to those who had been with Him, while they were mourning and weeping. 11 When they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they refused to believe it.
How many times have we heard the truth and rejected it because it didn’t fit into our preconceived narrative?
Before we get up in arms and say it was because she’s a woman they didn’t believe lets move on
12 After that, He appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the country. 13 They went away and reported it to the others, but they did not believe them either.
Again no one believed
Even after all that time walking with Jesus, they still could not grasp what had happened.
They needed the stone rolled away from their heart and their eyes.
14 Afterward He appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at the table; and He reproached them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had risen.
Change happens when the Heart is convicted and that stone is rolled away
A good father will chastise His children because He loves them and wants to see them grow.
If one is never offended they never take action.
{Father used a prank spray to get their kid to clean their room—The smell was pungent which drove the kid to clean that room}
If we are never offended by our sin, we do not recognize our need of forgiveness and a saviour.
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 “He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
Jesus didn’t leave them to be idle, He gave them a job
When we get saved, it is not so that we can spend the rest of our earthly days just laying around—We Have Work To DO!
I appreciate how Jesus dumbed it down for them and for us.
Share Gospel…
Believe-Good
No Believe-Bad
17 “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
I don’t want us to get caught up in Gifts here
I do though want us to take note that there will be fruit when one gets saved.
One will look different, act different, live different.
One will be unique compared to the world.
19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.
Jesus ascended so that the Church, His people could step up to the plate.
But He will be back.
Until then we are to be working His fields
20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed. And they promptly reported all these instructions to Peter and his companions. And after that, Jesus Himself sent out through them from east to west the sacred and imperishable proclamation of eternal salvation.
