Hebrews 2:14–18 “
14. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
15. And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16. For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.
17. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

Introduction
Introduction
An author, when writing, is tasked with the responsibility to establish elements to their work to allow those receiving from the work an understanding of their why. Ultimately, why, or their why, becomes the purpose for the work needing to be accomplished. An authors why describes the following:
Clarifies the core idea and theme
Develops the premise and scope
Shapes Characters, concepts and relationships
Most importantly the author’s script is prepared identifies purpose and planned solutions for the coming conflict of the writing they’re communicating
All films, screen plays, or theatrical performances have need of a conflict that needs a resolution
they need a situation for proper revelation
Good films, that are established with quality, are able to communicate the why to the how
Who’s the writer?
Hebrews 1. The Nature of the Book
From the earliest days of Christian history, the epistle to the Hebrews has been shrouded in obscurity. It is the only truly anonymous letter in the New Testament. With regard to authorship, most modern scholars share the view expressed by Origen’s dictum: “As to who wrote the epistle, truly only God knows.”
Some have suggested that Paul wrote the letter, others have suggested a phenomenal preacher of the day Apolos wrote the letter, some have suggested a woman wrote the letter in Phebe because of the feministic writing style the letter goes through linguistically, some have even made the accusation that this isn’t even simply a letter at all, but a combination of a sermonic presentation and traditional epistle put together.
Irregardless of who wrote the letter, the believer is simply glad that the letter was written …
this is almost like a statement of our faith
it doesn’t matter who really did it or how it was done, what does matter is that it was done
you should look at someone and say I’m so glad it was done
The Purpose of the Letter?
The writer is writing to a people who are a part of the Jewish Converts to Following the way of Christ.
many of these believers wouldn’t classify themselves as Christians. They classified themselves as the followers of the way of Christ
Irregardless of how we see ourselves denominationally, our responsibility is to see ourselves more and more like Jesus and to follow after His way
If we follow His way we’d have less issues in our government
talk about gas prices
war with Iran
If we follow His way, we’d have less conflicts at Home
we wouldn’t be angry with our spouses
unsatisfied on the job, we’d be in the will of God
unsatisfied
God, in His greatness, has established a situation for revelation
God’s plan was to create an environment to commune with mankind
mankind spoils the plan of God, because a serpent serenades mankind into sin
The Sin introduced separated mankind from God
God has prepared a solution to secure relationship with what sin separated Him from
The Devil through Sin had a plot to separate what God created from Him through the introduction of Sin
God’s revelation has always been Jesus
Jesus is written all throughout the Word as the solution God has to save mankind unto Himself
Jesus was there in the beginning during the inception of the garden of Eden.
He was seen in the Spirit of God hovering over the waters
He was seen in the creation of light,
we know this as Jesus is the light of the world
He was there when God said let US make man in our image
we are all images of God
He was also there during the great deception and fall of man
When he spoke and said to the serpent according Genesis 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” I will put enmity between you and the woman,
He was there as the ark of Noah
Noah and his family found safety in the Ark just as we find safety in the Ark of Jesus when we call upon his name
Joel 2:32 “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: For in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, As the Lord hath said, And in the remnant whom the Lord shall call.”
In all of Exodus Jesus was there. He was there as the ark of Moses
He was there as the burning bush
He was there as the blood offering that protected the first born of Israel during the plague of Egypt
And He is here all throughout the tabernacle
With scripture revealing Jesus all throughout the Word of God, we’ve found that our Lord has always desired one thing since the inception of humankind.
Contextual Conflict
Contextual Conflict
God cannot go against His Word
His Word was that Adam and Eve didn’t need to eat from a specific tree, otherwise they’d die
the death was both figuratively and literally
figuratively in that they were separated from the presence of God
literally in the fact that they were not created for death
God created them to live
God’s Plan for God’s Problem
The plan was to tabernacle with His people
God Wants to Dwell With His People
We understand this to be so because of God’s instructions to the people of God in Exodus when He tells them to establish a Tabernacle
First, the word “tabernacle” is the Hebrew word miskan, a word that means “dwelling place,” from a root form that may literally mean “pitch a tent.” God has made a promise that He is going to “pitch His tent” among us
In John 15, Jesus uses the word “abide.” In the Greek this is the same word from which “dwelling place” comes in the Hebrew. He talks about our abiding in Him as He abides in the Father, and the Father abides in the Son.
God took the initiative to pitch His tent among us, to dwell with men, and now through Jesus, He has come to abide among us in the flesh, in order to complete that revelation, but also to provide a way for us to abide, to dwell, in Him.
The tabernacle was represented as the place where God met with men, and it was at the center of Israel’s camp.
Just as the presence of God was the center of Israels camp (life) … so should the presence of God be the presence of our lives
I am concerned, that the presence of God is not the center of our lives like we claim it is and should be!
More concerned with fellowshipping than Fasting
partying over praying
brunching more than bearing witness of Jesus
God wants to be at the center of our lives!!
The tabernacle was represented as the place where the law was preserved.
The tabernacle was represented as a place of worship
In the formation of the tabernacle it’s developed into 3 parts
Outer Court
Holy Place
Holies of Holies
Each development of the formation of the Tabernacle is a representation and extension to the relationship we form and develop with God. It speaks to the levels that we can find the deeper we dig into Him
Outer Courter is a representation of salvation, redemption
It reflects what most churches have become
Doing just enough to make it into Heaven
In the outer court there’s dancing, slinging of blood, chants, and music playing
We do just enough to get inside of the presence of God but lack the integrity to go deeper into God
My concern is that we’ve become surface level Saints
Inner Court is a representation of Sanctification
It reflects the need to deeper into the unity of our relationship with God
we allow the light of the lamp stand to reflect who we are inside of whom he is
We allow the table of showbread to feed us the Word of God
We allow the incense to usher us into intercession
In the Most Holy place the Ark of the Covenant was placed here. It was placed at the most inner part of the Tabernacle. It was the place reserved for the Glory of God and Sacrifies to God
What was in the Holies of Holies
there is the ark of the covenant
in the ark is aarons rod that budded
a pot of manna
the ten commandments (God’s Word)
On the ark are two cherebim that have wings that cover the Word of God
In the middle of the ark is a Mercy Seat
This is the seat that would hold the Glory of God
Sacrifices would be made on the Ark by the chief priests one time a year for the atonement for the people of God

Ephesians 1:3–4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:”
Before the foundation of the World, we were chosen in Him
Everything we have ever done never mattered, because He chose us in Him

v. 14 Jesus delivers Deliverance through His Death
Devils are defeated, because He died
Any devil I battle is defeated, because He defeated them through His death
Jesus died so death can’t have me
He put death to death
How can I fail when failure was destroyed by God
