Definition:
The local church is an intentional gathering of believers in the gospel of Jesus Christ who covenant together holding the keys of kingdom, devote themselves to the preaching and proclamation of God’s Word and obey the commands of God’s Word to baptize and observe the Lord’s Supper.
Purpose Statement: Knowing Christ and making Him known in Hilliard and around the world.
Purpose Statement
What is the Church?
A gathered people....membership matters.
Where the Word of God is preached.
Where the Word of God is preached.
Where believers are baptized.
Where believers observe the Lord's Supper which proclaims the gospel, convicts of sin, and unifies the body.
Where the leadership is pastor-led--congregationalism.
Where the Gospel is believed, lived, ad proclaimed.
Where the Gospel is to be believed, lived, ad proclaimed.
We are saved by and for the gospel. Do you believe that? Do you live that? Do you see that? Are you married for the gospel? Are you parenting for the gospel? Are you a student for the gospel? Are you working for the gospel? Do you have relationships because of the gospel? Are you sacrificing because of the gospel?

2. Mission requires God to take on flesh to fulfill His plan.

Humility.

Mission requires God to take on flesh to fulfill His plan. (Humility)
Adam failed--Jesus is the better Adam.
Easter comes by means of Christmas.
Mission in't just an idea--it has flash and bones.
The church is the gospel made visible.
We are saved by the gospel and for the gospel.
We believe God's Word
We obey God's Word--
Romans 12:1–2 CSB
Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
We worship God alone.
We are unified
We forgive
We fellowship
WE COOPERATE--association. SBC.
We love our neighbors and show Mercy
We serve others.
We share God's Word--
We listen to preaching and teaching.
We are discipled and make disciples.
We have compassion the World--without living as the world.

3. Mission is fueled through substitutionary atonement.

Sacrifice

Mission is fueled through substitutionary atonement. (Sacrifice)
Sin has been conquered, death has been defeated, the grave has been overcome--THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING.
This is true love. This changes everything
1 John 3:16 CSB
This is how we have come to know love: He laid down his life for us. We should also lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.
This is worth denying our dreams and hope in order to be obedient to the Great Commission
This is worth giving our money an our talents and our time to. There is nothing more important in the universe than being apart of and advancing the kingdom of God.
We must love the Lord, love each other and truly love our town where God has uniquely placed us. We must not just seek to build a brand or fill seats. We must love them. We must serve them. We must let them see that this is the in breaking of the Kingdom of God.
