What is deception? To intentionally mislead, trick, or cause someone to believe something false, often through lying, concealment(hiding things), or distorting(twisting) the truth for personal gain. It involves active manipulation of information to create a false reality.

Where did deception start? Did people trick themselves? Or is there a father/founder of the lies?
Deception started in the Garden of Eden with the serpent. He twisted God’s Word placing doubt in the mind of Eve.
Deception continues throughout history, not only with Satan but also other rulers and authorities(fallen angels or demons).
Jude 6 “And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment.”
Demons want us to disobey God, they want his authority, they want his power, they want his worship, they cant get these things unless you are deceived. When they trick us they feel accomplished. Because they are against God’s plan. They want to be your god.
Isaiah 14:12–14 ““How you are fallen from heaven, O shining star, son of the morning! You have been thrown down to the earth, you who destroyed the nations of the world. For you said to yourself, ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars. I will preside on the mountain of the gods far away in the north. I will climb to the highest heavens and be like the Most High.’”
Deception comes in many forms: we will discuss deception from psalms 12
Colossians 3:9 “Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.”
Psalm 12:2–4 “Neighbors lie to each other, speaking with flattering lips and deceitful hearts. May the Lord cut off their flattering lips and silence their boastful tongues. They say, “We will lie to our hearts’ content. Our lips are our own—who can stop us?””
