A Great Crowd Follows Jesus

Mark 3:7 ESV
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea
Mark 3:7–12 ESV
7 Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea 8 and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him. 9 And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him, 10 for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed around him to touch him. 11 And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” 12 And he strictly ordered them not to make him known.

The crowd
loves noise
is not necessarily a good thing
is not necessarily committed
didn’t know Jesus
loves entertainment
will bless you one day and crucify you the next
The Disciples
loved Jesus
were learning
didn’t need noise
followed Jesus not the noise

9 And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him,
Jesus used wisdom
A good leader sees beyond
A good leader prepares ahead - intuition

10 for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed around him to touch him.
Don’t dwell in your past instead learn from your past for right decisions in the future

(ESV)
11 And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.”
The unclean spirits reacted to Jesus
They knew their place
6. (ESV)
12 And he strictly ordered them not to make him known.
God has already alluded to Jesus’ identity. He does not need the enemy’s testimony
They were trying to blow His cover
Sometimes we are not ready for certain revelations
Even though the enemy’s testimony about Jesus is true, Jesus does not want us to go to the enemy for answers
