Reasons why the resurrection matters

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
It proves that Jesus is God’s Son. Jesus stated that He had authority to lay down His life and to take it up again ().

5. It gives power for Christian living. We cannot live for God by our own strength. It is only as His resurrection power works in and through us that we can do His will and glorify His name.

b. v.v. 20-22 the resurrection means that Jesus not only defeated death for himself, but that he defeated it for us. He died and rose as a new representative for humanity, as the Second Adam.

5. Why? That your labour is not in vain for the Lord.
