Walking with Jesus. This is the life of a disciple.
When we can’t see him
They walked with Jesus on the road to Emmaus, but they were also blinded to who he really was. They were kept from seeing who he was. This part is difficult for me as a bible reader and expositor. Because they could have been kept from seeing him by God, or they could have been kept from seeing him because of their unbelief.
When we are down
They Stopped and then looked sad.
When we don’t understand
They knew everything, but understood nothing.

The beginning of Him opening the scripture is a rebuke of foolishness and unbelief. You can understand what the scriptures say about Jesus because they were foolish and unbelieving.

They get close to the village and Jesus pretends to go further to test their neighborly love. They eat with him.
An experience with Jesus in fellowship.
