James 4:13 “13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”

James 4:14 “14 yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”

Lord, lunatic, or liar. C.S.Lewis

The Submission after the Decision

If Jesus is Lord of all, how often do we commit treason?
We need to view Him as much as Lord as we do savior.
If you were a Lord, and you had a subject like you, how would you view that subject?

Talk, Talk, Talk

Always talking about doing better, but never actually doing better. Always being sorry but never actually beginning to do what they’ve talked about what they need to do.
Tomorrow’s not promised…
Choose this day whom you will serve…
Life is like a vapor….
To him who knows to do right and doesn’t do it to him at his sin…

James 4:17 “17 So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”

James 1:23 “23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror.”

James 1:24 “24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.”

James 1:25 “25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.”

King You

Who will you submit to besides yourself?
The flesh war against the spirit and the spirit war against the flesh… always

James 4:7 “7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

1 Peter 5:6 “6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,”

Matthew 6:10 “10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Being honorable in your disobedience does not impress God.

When grace changes the heart, submission out of fear changes to submission out of love, and true humility is born. William Hendriksen

Let Us Begin

When will your life starts looking more like His and less like yours?
Too often our life is still completely in our control with brief moments mixed in of His forgiveness and grace.

1 Corinthians 6:19 “19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own,”

1 Corinthians 6:20 “20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

1 Peter 2:9 “9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

Colossians 3:1 “1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.”

Colossians 3:2 “2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.”

Colossians 3:3 “3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”

Colossians 3:4 “4 When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
