The Wrong View of Suffering

Job felt that his friends were worthless physicians and their arguments were filled with lies.
Job 13:4–5 “As for you, you whitewash with lies; worthless physicians are you all. Oh that you would keep silent, and it would be your wisdom!”
See Job 15:20-35...
See Job 18:1-21...
Proverbs 12:21 “No ill befalls the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble.”
Psalm 34:19 “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.””
Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
See Job 20:4-29...

Right Belief and Wrong Application

See Job 25:1-6...
Psalm 5:4–5 “For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil may not dwell with you. The boastful shall not stand before your eyes; you hate all evildoers.”
Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
Romans 3:10 “as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;”
Isaiah 64:6 “We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.”
Genesis 6:5 “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
Isaiah 57:15 “For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.”
Isaiah 66:1–2 “Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool; what is the house that you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.”
Psalm 51:16–17 “For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”
1 Peter 5:5–6 “Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,”
