Title: God’s Tabernacle
Subtitle: The Pattern of Salvation
Men have given their lives to the study of the Tabernacle.
Bro. GA Mangun taught on praying through the Tabernacle.
Bro. Anthony Mangun wrote a book on it (Heaven to Earth) and has taught it all over our fellowship.
There are many names for Moses’ Tabernacle in the bible”
House of the Lord
Temple of the Lord
Tabernacle
Holy Sanctuary
Sanctuary
Tent of the Congregation
Tent of the Testimony
House of Prayer
Isaiah 56:7 “7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, And make them joyful in my house of prayer: Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; For mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.”
The Tabernacle was the center of Jewish life for 500 years!
Literally the camp was set up around the tabernacle.
Every color, knot, tassel, ring, stave, skin, mineral - was all specifically ordained and designed for a specific reason.
Gold — deity / kingship
Silver — redemption
Bronze — judgment
Blue — heaven
Purple — royalty
Scarlet — sacrifice
Linen — righteousness
It could be set up and taken down in a few hours because Israel was on the move to the Promised land!
There are two chapters in all the bible about creation
42 on the Tabernacle!
The Temple had to be made just like the Tabernacle because it was the pattern!

The point of the Tabernacle was God wanted to live among his people.
This is the common theme of the bible!
A Holy God wanting to live with an unholy people!
So he gave them a pattern, a path to follow to get to him.
If the Tabernacle was set up correctly, they had access to him!
There are four places we find in scripture where God tells us he wants to live!
Tabernacle - Exodus 25:8 “8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.”
Jesus - John 1:14 “14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Us the Church - 1 Corinthians 3:16 “16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
God wants to live in you!
New Jerusalem - Revelation 21:3 “3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”
Look at the progression:
Walked with Adam and Eve…
Then sin happened…
Then Calvary…
Then Sanctification…
Then Raptured into eternity to live with him!
THE PATTERN FOR ALL THIS IS THE TABERNACLE!
The Tabernacle is a Four Fold Prophetic Picture
Salvation - most common
Jesus Christ
You and I
Prayer
Tonight I want to talk to you about the most common pattern: salvation.
The furniture of the tabernacle was laid out in the shape of the cross…
The vertical beam deals with salvation
The horizontal beam deals with sanctification.
Vertical beam = SALVATION
First thing you see when walking through door (who’s the door) = Brazen Alter
Blood was spilled
Second = Brazen Laver - Priest washed the blood from his hands
Third = Ark of the Covenant - Glory
Giving us a prophetic glimpse of REPENTANCE, BAPTISM AND HOLY GHOST
Horizontal beam = Sanctification
Golden Candlestick - light (Jesus said he was light)
Alter of Incense - incense was burned
Table of Showbread - bread was placed
Giving us a prophetic glimpse of our relationship (sanctification) with God!
Candlestick - light, salt - this is where we talk to people about God
Alter of Incense - intercession, prayer - this is where we talk to God about people
Table of showbread - Word of God
If you could remove the walls and roof and look from above, this is what you will see!
Brazen Alter
First and largest piece of furniture.
All other pieces of furniture could fit into the alter.
Blood was shed here and the blood touched every piece of furniture on the vertical beam of the cross.
Blood was washed off in the laver, making the waters of baptism bloody!
Blood was sprinkled one time a year on the Mercy Seat.
Blood was required for salvation!
Made of brass = judgement of sin.
Fire was not ever to go out.
Leviticus 6:13 “13 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.”
God started it, man maintained it!
Repentance is not just for the sinner!
But the privilege of the saint!
1 Corinthians 1:18 “18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”
What is ugly to those who don’t understand it beautiful to you and I!
Brazen Laver - the least information about
Sole purpose was for washing!
Question: Where did the water come from?
They were in a desert…
1 Corinthians 10:4 “4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”
From the same place that they drank from!
That rock that followed them for 40 years…
When that priest washed his hands in the water
God met him in the water and cleansed him!
No further ministry could be done in the tabernacle until the priest washed himself!
Baptism is not just a profession of faith…
It’s a supernatural event that washes you clean!
1 Corinthians 6:11 “11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.”
You WERE but you washed!
Ark of the Covenant
Overlaid with Gold
Other two were brass because God was judging sin.
This was gold because it was to house the presence of God.
The Ark was the first thing that God gave instructions on!
No natural light here, the Glory lit the Most Holy Place
Blood of atonement was made here.
Voice of God spoke from between the Cherubim.
Numbers 7:89 “89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto him.”
Watch!
What is the initial sign of the Holy Ghost?
God speaks through you as his glory fills you…
Yes, his voice spoke from the Ark but today speaks through me and lives in me!
Acts 2:4 “4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
And this is not a one time thing…
John 14:26 “26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
In the OT only the priest could sacrifice and only one time a year could the High Priest experience the Glory…
BUT in the New Testament it lives in us and speaks through us and it is a part of our daily lives!
Conclusion:
God wants a relationship with us!
To experience that, we start with repentance, we are washed in his blood, filled with his Glory.
That is how we approach God!
BUT when God wanted to approach us, he had to come from the opposite end of the Tabernacle!
He came from glory, put on flesh and then ends on the alter of sacrifice!
Oh how he loves you and me!
