John 5:1–4 NKJV
After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.
So many times in our christian walk we are like this waiting, man I cant wait for this revival or that outpouring. Oh man there is a tent revival coming in May I cant wait…
yet thats what we do is wait, they will stir the waters
Then I will step in.
John 5:5–7 NKJV
Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
Do you want to be made well? Did You see That? He answered with excuses
John 5:8 NKJV
Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.”
Mark 10:46–48 NKJV
Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
He wasn't waiting for someone to put him in, He stepped in Himself, Jesus!!!!
because He stepped in look at what happened!!!
Mark 10:49–50 ESV
And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus.
Jesu called Him- he stepped up and he didn't wait, he didn't hold on to his old beggars mentality He threw off that old robe, He stepped up to Jesus
look at this Jesus asked him the same thing he asked the man in John 5 at the pool
Mark 10:51–52 NKJV
So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.
No excuses, no waiting on others!!!! He stepped in, stepped up and stepped out healed!
Luke 5:18 NKJV
Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. ( They tried to step in)
No excuses, no oh well maybe next time we can try again.
They couldn't step in So they stepped up!!!
Luke 5:19 NKJV
And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.
The bible says they let him down, listen they just stepped out of the normal routine, the house top wasn't stopping them, they tore it off!!!
Do we have any one in here who says there ain’t nothing stopping me, I’m stepping in, I’m stepping up and I’m stepping out even if it means tearing the roof off!!!
This is what its going to take….
In the book of 2nd Kings we see Elijah about to leave and we see the next generation, the next Coming up…
2 Kings 2:9–10 NKJV
And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
NOTICE HE DIDNT SAY NO…
He said if you see me- This level of anointing isn't automatic, it requires focus!!!
Listen many say they want more, but they dont have focus!
Elisha followed when it wasn't convenient, he could of stayed home, Double portion doesn't fall on the lazy crowd, the distracted crowd,
It falls on the focused, the committed those who are willing too:
Step in, All in!!! No matter what
2 Kings 2:13 NKJV
He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.
he didn't just say he wanted it He stepped in
Elisha was focused, he went after it, He stepped in and Then He stepped up (He picked up the mantle)
many in the church say they want the anointing
they want the mantle, but they dont move like they are carrying it
They ask for more, but they still think they are less than
They ask for power-but they live like nothing changed
Come on Church its time to step in and step up… Pick up the mantle
Miracles didn't happen just because he stepped in, and stepped UP and picked up the mantle…
They happened because He stepped out under the power of the anointing!
The dead was raised, leprosy healed(IN THE WATER), Oil was multiplied!!!
God doesnt want excuses, He is reDY TO HEAL, TO SET FREE, TO DELIVER BUT HE IS WAITING ON A CHURCH TO:
STEP IN, STEP UP AND STEP OUT!!!
