Boldness in Christ

Boldness comes through Surrender.

Jesus started a fight and now we have to pick sides…

13 The members of the council were amazed when they saw the

v13 - Boldness

validated by Jesus not others

Boldness vs anger

Fighting with authority - not putting down or closing the door (cancel)

He states truth in love.

politically cautious elite with the courageous boldness of apostles carrying on Jesus’s ministry

Boldness doesn’t always pay favorable dividends - but it does cause lasting marks on people.

- Examples

Driving and someone yelling at for being on my phone.

Common - uneducated

Not educated like the rabbis - who though and talked a cert way.

Disciples studied under Jesus!

v16 - PR damage Control over understanding the Miracle.

Have you ever met someone like this?

The wrong emphasis on the syllable

Propaganda - accused the disciples of what they wanted to do…

The command was not so speak in Jesus Name - not to speak as a representative and in his authority

If they speak in Jesus name - killing him didn’t work…

The leaders wanted to stop legitimate legal testimony

v19

They were sold out to Jesus.

He is the higher authority

Killing Jesus didn’t accomplish what they wanted.

Give up and give in! - to Jesus - SURRENDER

Surrender leads to obedience - God you know better

The leaders in the room walked by the lame man ever day....

We are forced to accept Jesus on his terms or fight the all powerful God

We don’t have a right to have an opinion about what who Jesus saves and why!

Warring - not fighting Jesus causes us to fight the power of this world.

Boldness comes through surrender

This comes through the power of the Holy Spirit

Jesus’ Mission

Bring the salvation and fill us with the Holy Spirit so that we can follow his example

You don’t work for a pay check you are on mission.

Be bold while others are afraid

Don’t sit out

The enemy is ticking you into fighting Spiritual

Spiritual gifts - be the characteristics of God he created you to be
