Devotion - GNC Family Fun Night
Notes
Transcript
Good evening everybody! We are so glad that you are here tonight, and for all of the family that came tonight with your kids, we are so glad that you’re here.
We want to start tonight by giving God some praise! So let’s all stand up as we worship tonight!!
***Have Carter lead us in some worship songs. Maybe even see if Wes can help with this as well.
***Play slideshows that Keshia has
***Do the individual class presentations that are prepared (Make sure each one is ready)
***Present the Good News of Jesus Christ!!!
I just want to thank each of you parents who have allowed your kids to come and be a part of Good News Club this year. We have had so much fun, and God has tremendously blessed us this year.
We have had so much fun… Haven’t we? (Address kids)
But most importantly, each and every week that your children come to GNC we are teaching them Jesus. We want them to get fed… we want them to have fun… but most importantly, we want them to know the Lord.
We can have all the fun in the world, but if we miss Jesus, we’ve missed it all. So we give them the Good News of Jesus Christ each and every week.
That is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The word Gospel means “Good News”.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes…
That is why we share the Gospel week in and week out, because the Gospel holds the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. We want your children to know the truth of Jesus Christ, and we want them to come to know this God who loves them so much.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
We live in a world that is full of inconsistency and half-truths. The truth of today is not the truth of tomorrow. And to be quiet honest, it is exhausting. We want everyone to know, not just the children, that there is such a thing as consistency and absolute truth out there. There is hope. There is peace. There is true joy. But these things can only be found in Jesus Christ.
So each week, our goal is to point them to Calvary. It is to show them just how far God was willing to go so that they could be saved, have their sins forgiven, and walk in the freedom of this new life in Christ.
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Man… listen to what that just said. God demonstrated… God proved… His love toward us, in that while we were still sinners… Christ died for us.
That means, that God loved us before we got our lives in order. God loved us enough to die for us, while we were at our very worst. That means there is absolutely nothing that I can do to make God love me any more than He already does. That also means that there is absolutely nothing I can do to make God love me any less. God’s love is consistent, even when we’re not. God’s love never changes.
And the best part of it all is this, God wants every single one of us to be saved. He wants every single one of us to know that love that He has for us. He wants every single one of us to experience a peace, a hope, and a joy that only He can provide. He wants us all to be set free from the bondage and baggage of sin, and to experience His holiness right here and now.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
So I ask you tonight, have you ever really surrendered your life to Jesus? Have you ever truly known the love of God personally? Is God convicting you tonight that you need to be saved?
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
I want to ask everyone to bow their heads.
***Ask for all Christians to raise their hands. “If you couldn’t raise your hand, then you need to be saved.”
***Ask if anyone is being convicted by God to be saved. If so, ask them to pray where they are.
***Ask if anyone surrendered their life to Christ. If so, celebrate.
