Serve - Refers to assisting, working for, or being useful to a person or purpose.
We are not saved by service, but we are saved to service. We Endeavor, Page 6
Charles Spurgeon
Love is service rather than sentiment.
John Robert Walmsley Stott (English Preacher)

Something that Counts

Service is about accomplishing God’s will for your life, not being comfortable and happy

Matthew 7:21 “21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 “22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’”

Matthew 7:23 “23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’”

Obedience is the Key

Service isn’t about filling fulfilled, it’s about being obedient
Its not about grand of things you do, but the things that God has for you to do.

1 Samuel 15:22 “22 And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.”

John 14:15 “15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

1 John 5:3 “3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.”

Romans 12:1 “1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”

A Tree worth Keeping

Service is about kingdom WORK

John 15:1 “1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.”

John 15:2 “2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”

John 15:3 “3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.”

John 15:4 “4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.”

Not I but Christ

Service is about God being glorified, not you being exalted

Galatians 2:20 “20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Philippians 2:3 “3 Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”

SHINING is always costly. Light comes only at the cost of that which produces it. An unlit candle does no shining. Burning must come before shining. We cannot be of great use to others without cost to ourselves. Burning suggests suffering. We shrink from pain.
