Introduction

Saved to the uttermost: I am the Lord's Jesus, my Savior, salvation affords; Gives me His Spirit, a witness within, Whisp'ring of pardon, and saving from sin.
Refrain: Saved, saved, saved to the uttermost, Saved, saved by power divine; Saved, saved, saved to the uttermost, Jesus, the Savior, is mine!
Great preacher Adrian Rodgers tells us this:

There are only two classes in the world. Now, we divide people by upper class, middle class, lower class; but God doesn’t do that. There are only two classes—the saved and the lost, the saints and the aint’s. And, you are in one category or you are in another. You say, “Well, I’m not entirely saved, Pastor Rogers.” No, no—nobody is half saved. To be half saved is to be altogether entirely lost. Either you are saved or you are lost.

Truely, God knows who truly belong to Him…
2 Timothy 2:19 NASB95
19 Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness.”
There have been alot of high profile people who have posted on tic toc /you tube professing faith for some and displaying public baptisms on social media.
Lily Phillips - Adult-content creator whose public baptism sparked debate about repentance, testimony, and whether profession and profession of faith align.
Azzi Fudd— Elite basketball player whose baptism testimony drew attention as an example of public Christian witness in sports.

Some people still need prayer as they're still engaging in their former life styles. Were not in the position to make judgements on their salvation….
Jesus tells us:
Matthew 7:1–3 NLT
1 “Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. 2 For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. 3 “And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own?
We need to stop and look in the mirror of some of our own lives where we committed acts of sin after conversion/baptism.
We cannot do anything but pray for others who may be struggling and begin to deal with the beam in our own eye.
2 Corinthians 13:5 NASB95
5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?
We cannot live one foot in the world and one foot out…
When you know who Jesus is, we can learn to walk in the purpose and plan of God for our lives…
Instead of being overwhelmed by the world, we can start today to walk in victory by putting our faith in Jesus. Not just for salvation, but in everything the world throws at us.
The text tells us….
1 John 5:4–5 NASB95
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. 5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
The Lord wants you and I to have victory in overcoming the world. The Kosmos, the worldly systems that desires our commitment of faith, while enslaving us into systems that reject God and his word. Faith in Jesus will bring you and I over every mountain and every trial. He will see you through every one of them. Assurance of faith in Jesus will tell you and I that you don’t have to guess that your saved, but you can embrace a Know so salvation. He wants to convince you and I today to listen to the evidence and declaration of faith in Jesus, the Son of God. There are three points and at the end, your response is required…If you cannot wath until the end, that s alright as well
Point 1- So that you may Know the Expert Witness of God v6-8
1 John 5:6–8 KJV 1900
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
An expert witness is a specialist with, knowledge, training, or experience in a specific field (e.g., medicine, engineering, forensics) who provides independent, technical opinions to help a court understand complex issues.
The Holy Spirit knows everything , and he does not need training in any field. He is the Teacher …
John 14:26 NASB95
26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.
If you and I are followers of Christ, the Holy Spirit is your teacher this morning.
But according to the KJV, There are three that testify…
1 John 5:7 KJV 1900
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
My job today is to not get into theological debates, but let me be clear, the triune God see’s any debate about Jesus, or the Word of God as settled in Heaven..
Psalm 119:89 NASB95
89 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.

Beyond earth, however, is heaven. Beyond time is eternity. Beyond change is the changeless promise of God. Thus the psalmist turns to God’s word and finds the mark of heaven upon it. It is the one absolute for his life. It is settled in heaven be cause God Himself has given it to us and it will be fulfilled by Him

So the testimony of God in Heaven is absolute and is still in effect right now;
let us discuss the expert witness of the Holy Spirit on the earth…..so we can walk in Victory over a world that desires to screw us up and screw us over again and again.
1 John 5:6 KJV 1900
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
How did Jesus come? by Water and Blood…
He came by Water in Baptism..
The Water has something to say about Jesus
Matthew 3:16–17 NASB95
16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, 17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”
You have the witness of Triune God at the Baptism of Jesus…The death burial and resurrection of Jesus!
Jesus came by Water of Baptism that identifies that Jesus is the Son of God. Do you want victory ? When you identify with the baptism of Jesus You Identify with his death and resurrection.
Romans 6:4 NASB95
4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
We need to die to our old way of life!
die to pornography, die to lust, die to a gay lifestyle, die to lying, greed and hypocrisy, die to racism…The reason why there is no newness of life is because we wont cut sin out of our life
Matthew 5:30 NASB95
30 “If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.
There are some things they need to cut out and there some things we need to cut out of our own lives. we need to cut out lukewarm christianity , milk-toast christianity if were going to receive the expert witness of the spirit in this realm.
If that was not good enough for you, then the Expert Witness of the Holy spirit will point you to the witness of the Blood
John 19:34–35 KJV 1900
34 But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. 35 And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.
Adrian Rogers Sermon Archive A. The Meaning of Water and Blood

The sins of the world were distilled upon the Lord Jesus. He died of a broken heart. And, when that soldier took that spear and rammed it into the side of the Lord Jesus, there poured out water and blood.

Adrian Rogers Sermon Archive B. The Message of Water and Blood

Well, you see, it is the blood that cleanses from sin. It is the blood that removes the penalty of sin.

Isaiah 1:18 NASB95
18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.
What can waash away my sin? Nothing…Nothing …..Nothing….but the blood….
Jesus came by The Water and the Blood and the Spirit
The Spirit at his incarnation
Luke 1:35 NASB95
35 The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.
After His Crucifixion
Matthew 27:54 NASB95
54 Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
At His Baptism
Matthew 3:17 NASB95
17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”
Lee Strobel- after reading expert after expert, listening to argument after argument, seeing the answers to question after question, and testing the evidence with your logic and common sense, you’ve found, as I have, that the case for Christ is conclusive.
You can believe in the Expert Witness of God that Jesus is the son of God whether in Heaven or on the Earth….We can Overcome this world by faith in Jesus because we have a Know So Salvation…
Whats His Name (3x’s)
Point 2- So that you may Know the Character Witness of God v9-10
Everyday, we demonstrate faith in something. We drive our cars and by faith we believe in the commercials and all the advertisement, and marketing schemes that demand our allegiance.
In 2025, American companies spent nearly half a trillion dollars pursuing our attention, shaping what we desire, what we buy, and often what we believe.
We trust the testimony of men in matters small and great, yet John reminds us that the witness of God about Jesus Christ is greater still.
1 John 5:9–10 KJV 1900
9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
If is a conditional and let you and I know that for argument sake, we have accepted the witness of men; Men who lie,Men you are fallible, Who makes mistakes, Who tell you and I no more wars, but were in a war now….but the testimony of Goid is greater…
Titus 1:2 NASB95
2 in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,
Hebrews 6:18 NASB95
18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.
Numbers 23:19 KJV 1900
19 God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
2 Corinthians 1:20 NASB95
20 For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.
Man will lie, cheat steal , and do you wrong everytime, but My God is faithful
Faithful, faithful, faithful is our God (3x’s)
I'm reaping the harvest God promised me Take back what the devil stole from me And I rejoice today, for I shall recover it all Yes, I rejoice today, for I shall recover it all
2 Timothy 2:13 NASB95
13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
John Blanchard- God’s name is his revealed character.
— “the” (definite article)ὁ (ho)
υἱὸς (huios) — “son”
— “of the” (genitive article)τοῦ (tou)
— “God” (genitive case)θεοῦ (theou)
So the proper construction is:
ho huios tou theou = the Son of God
ho hwee-OS too theh-OO = “the Son of God.”
When you believe by Faith in that Name the witness is in you !!!!!!
1 John 5:10 NASB95
10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son
Do you believe in the Character witness of God? God speaks for Himself
You need to taste Jesus by Faith
Taste The Character of God
Look at the Great Hall of Fame Pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles, Jim Palmer who ate chicken wings for the first time in his life at 80 years of age tells us, “ what have I missed all these years”
Psalm 34:8 NASB95
8 O taste and see that the Lord is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
Point 3- So that you may know Verdict- v11-12
1 John 5:11–12 KJV 1900
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

A. Jesus Is the Source of Life (v.11)

“And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.”
John points us first to the origin of eternal life. Life does not rise from human goodness, religious effort, denominational loyalty, or moral discipline. Life has a source—and that source is Jesus Christ. Apart from Him there is no eternal life. A person may breathe, think, build, accumulate, and exist—but existence is not the same as life. Christ distinguished the two when He said He came that we might have life, and have it abundantly. The world offers animation; Jesus offers resurrection life.
Preaching line: Outside of Christ, you may have breath in your lungs—but you do not have life in your soul.

B. Jesus Is the Substance of Life (v.12)

“He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
John moves from source to possession. Eternal life is not merely something Christ gives; it is something found in union with Christ Himself. Christianity is not ultimately a philosophy to admire, ethics to practice, or rituals to perform—it is Christ living in His people. Jesus does not simply point the way to life; He declares, “I am the life.” He is to the soul what blood is to the body—its vitality, its sustaining power, its living center.
Preaching line: The question is not, “Do you know church?” The question is, “Do you have the Son?”

C. Jesus Is the Surety of Life (v.13)

“These things I have written…that you may know that you have eternal life.”
John closes with certainty. God does not leave believers suspended between hope and fear, wondering if salvation is real. He gives a record—His written testimony. Feelings rise and fall. Emotions can be sincere yet unstable. Experiences may fade in memory. But God’s Word stands sealed with divine authority. And that record is reinforced by a threefold witness:
— redemption accomplishedThe atoning work of the Son
— assurance inwardly confirmedThe abiding witness of the Spirit
— truth objectively declaredThe affirming Word of the Father
This is heaven’s record, heaven’s seal, and heaven’s verdict.
Celebration line: And the verdict reads: Whoever has the Son has life—settled, secure, and sealed in Jesus Christ.
