TGP WAY: We are Christ-Centered

A couple weeks ago we we’re in our cultivation class…. and we have a new man pressing into the Lord growing in his faith Journey…

At the end of the class… Reese Halmark…. invited him to exchange numbers and offer to do bible study with him… and partner with him in his growth.

Reese was teaching our class that week…

He could have been focused on his task.. or zipping out to go to sleep…

But he was Christ Centered… He put Jesus first… in that moment…

Helping to lead this man to a christ centered life as well.

Scripture Colossians 3:17

“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus…”

Well.... It’s time to worship the Lord through our... Generosity

Before we talk about giving,  if you’re a guest, you are under NO obligation to give–You are our Guest - We give so that you can have an oportunity to Hear the Gospel.

Giving:

Did you know that giving is a part of your discipleship Journey?

Everyone of us come into the faith, learning about prayer, the word of God, and doing our part through giving our time talent and treasure as the Body of Christ.

Have you continued in your discipleship path - through the generosity journey?

It begins by just doing something… just making a move of Generosity. But we don’t get stuck here - we continue to grow…

Today is Stand Sunday… as most of you know we are taking a special offering for Orphan Care…

How many of you know before we give to extra things like this we first what?

Tithe…

We don’t want to take out of our tithe bucket and put it in the special offering bucket

That does not help us - it actually hurts us.

As pray over this special moment of worship, Thank you to so many of you who are faithful tither’s week in and week out. You have no idea the impact you are making in the lives of our people and this community.

Well... we try to make it easy for you to give... here are a couple ways

o On the seat in front of you -you can simply tap your phone to give

Is an easy way to give for everyone.

Make sure to put your gifts in a Giving envelope – they are located in the seat pocket in front of you - you can drop them in the buckets as they go by or the boxes on the back wall of the auditorium.

Lets pray….

Ask God to use our generosity to our gifts to advanced the Kingdom Further Faster.

Welcome/Stand Sunday

What is Stand Sunday?

· It’s a day that is celebrated all around the US. We celebrate it early in the year.. It’s a day to raise awareness  or Orphan Care and call the local church to stand and care for the vulnerable children in our community, those that are at risk in losing their nuclear family.

Our heart is to serve across the full spectrum of orphan care, from prevention, to stepping into the trenches, to reunification.

We have incredible people in our church doing this. Today I want to invite Chad and Joni rider our orphan care directors to come and share part of their story with you…

There are a lot of ways to go... for example

o You can go by... becoming a Foster Care or Adoptive parent.

You can... get training to provide Baby sitting or overnight care for families that are fostering or adopting a child.

You can– provide meal for a family or volunteer monthly with one of our Partners like Phased In that care for young people who have aged out of Foster Care System and have no where to go.

Phased in will house these children and teach them life skills that can help them become a healthy contributing member of our community 

Lastly but NOT least... I am asking you today to

Stand and Give

Let me tell you how you can easily give today…

You can also give via check or cash just notate it on the envelop that its for STAND SUNDAY – there are envelopes at the offering boxes in the back and you can drop your offerings off in those boxes.

Our goal today is 10k… thats easy for a church out size to do

But takes all of us doing something….

Some of you can give a 1000 or more… I want to invite those of you who can to join my wife and I

Many of you can do 3-500

A host of you can do 50-100

Listen… at the end of the day.. DON’T GIVE under compulsion.. give out of a cheerful heart..

Tongues & Interpretation

1. To STRENGTHEN the Church (1 Cor14:5)

For prophecy is greater than SPEAKING in TONGUES, unless someone interprets what you are saying so that the whole church will be STRENGTHENED.

Believers, God has operated through this gift today to strengthen you today. Let your faith be strengthened and know that God is in control and using supernatural measures to speak to us.

2. Is a SIGN for unbelievers. (1Cor. 14: 21a, 22)

1 Corinthians 14:21–22 (ESV)

In the Law it is written, “By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak to this people, and even then they will not listen to me, says the Lord.” Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers, while prophecy is a sign not for unbelievers but for believers.

22 -  So you see that speaking in tongues is a SIGN, not for believers, but for UNBELIEVERS.

The Bible explains to us God has chosen to use this gift to be a sign for you. A sign for what? It is a sign of his realness for those of you who have been doubting or questioning the existence of God. He wants you to know he is REAL and he wants to bring you spiritual life and health. If you're in here today and you don't know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior... he wants you to know he has gone to great lengths to show you his love today. (Great opportunity for a salvation altar call if it fits).
