INTRODUCTION
16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
WHY WE VALUE GLOBAL MISSIONS:
WHY WE VALUE GLOBAL MISSIONS:
1) Christ COMMANDS It!
1) Christ COMMANDS It!
The Great Commission is not a great suggestion.
Jesus speaks from a clear position of “all authority”
It’s not just the Great Commission, but it is the Great Co-Mission
We do not go alone…Christ is with us through the indwelling Holy Spirit!
We are to be on mission “as we are going”…everyday whether here or abroad.
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
We are to value Gospel advancement among “all nations”, not just our own!
2) The Lost NEED It!
2) The Lost NEED It!
The Gospel of Jesus is the only hope of salvation for all people!
Ignorance is not a means of salvation.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
What happens to people who die when they never hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Hearing about sin doesn’t not create guilt! Sin creates guilt.
All people are guilty of sin.
The Gospel of Jesus is the Good News that we can be forgiven of our sin and have our guilt imputed onto Christ.
If people die without hearing the Gospel of Jesus, they still die guilty of their sin and will spend an eternity in Hell.
Sin is serious…therefore we must be serious about getting people access to their only hope!
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
This is true not only for those across the globe, but it is also true of those across the street!
Valuing Global missions means we value getting the Gospel to areas where it needed, whether it is measured in feet or thousands of miles!
3) It’s a DISTINCTIVE of Who We Are!
3) It’s a DISTINCTIVE of Who We Are!
9 After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!”

SHOW VIDEO: THE JOURNEY OF A DOLLAR
Part of our heart is to be a part of God’s Kingdom work of getting the Good News of Salvation to the lost!
We hope to see to it that all of our neighbors will hear the Gospel and have an opportunity to respond!
We also want to be a part of getting to ultimately see a great multitude from every nation, tribe, peoples, and languages gathered around the throne and before the Lamb in worship King Jesus for all eternity!
It’s not an either/or kind of thing…it’s a both/and!

Global Missions is a part of what we value at Talihina FBC.
We can all express and show that value as we give…as we send…and as we go, whether it is across the street or across the globe!
